Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

Once it's opened, it may not last to the out date, like if you opened it today, or if you waited until the out date to open it, it may only last a few more days before turning, but still that's pretty good......but then if you wait until Feb 30, it technically should be good forever! Ha!!

We are having a winter alert/watch. Basically it said it’s winter and to expect normal winter weather. Who writes this stuff?

I used to be a storm spotter, the ham radio 'scene' has basically gone silent in my town, so I'm not as involved as I was 20 years ago. But, then, I used to read every release read to put on the cowl and cape and head out to wherever I was needed to be the eyes and ears. Youre right...the quality of the reports that come out today are pretty bad. I don't know if they are trying to be funny some times, but certainly not 'just the facts ma'am"

The same for the over the road LED sign boards -- so much trying to be cute or relevant...it is 'bad enough' that recently the TLA responsible for oversight of these things made a judgment that "cute is out" and those will be strictly business....

It’s snowing again. We can sure use it as there is barely any on the ground. The low on Friday is expected to be 8F which is the norm this time of year.

Man, it is brutal up there isn't it. We're bouncing between 30 and 50, next week even hitting 60. This year so far we really haven't had any snow -- 3-5 inches in total. This has been one of the mildest winters I can remember. I bought a snowthrower last year for a predicted "Snowmageddon" or "White death" event. It was probably written by one of those same aforementioned writers.

This all makes me worry --- March --- beware the ides of March. I'm going gto wager we'll have ice storms out the wazoo...

Just in time for the Birky!
The Vasaloppet had to be cancelled.

This some cheesehead code?

Another beautiful picture --- even my wife, who hates snow more than I do, said, "I could live there, as long as we had a fireplace."

I'm chomping at the bit again! I finished all the camper projects and put the last screw into place at about 4 yesterday. Really pleased with the way it turned out, I had my doubts simply based on space available to squeeze in 1 more bit of hardware....but it finally fit.

Now, I am moving on to a house project. Network upgrades!

Today's high will only be about 76 or so, and rainy, causing the local wildlife to be a bit more active...

Where you at? Are you out galavanting again? I thought you were some place not quite as miserable...

The late Jimmy Buffett had a song about this...Boat Drinks? Though I've given up alcohol for lent, so, I'm holding out for Dingus Day. How many old polocks know what that is without looking it up! Where I"m from, its like a national holiday.

Its not that the weather is that bad here, it is just not nice enough to do much. That in-between state. I'll take that over 4 inches of snow and 7 degrees though

Cant say I miss the ND winters...right about now all the snow piled on side of the road is turning black from road dirt, exhaust soot- or used to be...

Here on the Left Coast the sand has been scoured a bit- by "the atmospheric rivers"...;)

...somewhere in there is a little black devil dog, latest CampInn protective device. She may allow me to use her bed.

I think the CI name is firming up;
"The Doghouse".

Currently 6F up from 4F. It’s mostly sunny with an expected high of 15F. The four inches of snow was closer to six and the drifts at the top of my driveway was a foot deep. At least I got to play on my tractor plowing it.

We're in Maui, trying to ease the stress created by all those nasty spammers. This guy has the right attitude...

Pixar nailed that character in Finding nemo --- or was it Dori. The only trouble with Maui, it you can't take your camper there :) This might be a fair trade though.

They predicted snow for us --- but as is typical, the roads are just covered with salt now. Threat of snow? Spent a half million (or whatever insane price road salt is these days) :\

Have also been in Maui earlier this month. Rough and murky seas precluded any swimming or snorkeling. However, whales were very active and put on a good show. And it pushed us into higher altitudes in search of something to do. Can't say I was disappointed. 30 years ago we trekked 10 miles to a cabin on the far side of the caldera (the last lit patch at the base of the cliffs) with a 1 year old. A little less ambitious this time around but a better picture:

60 with keurig in the cup...getting last bit of stucco fix in before the next "atmospheric river" hits Monday...
...hope these frequent "atmospheric rivers " this winter are going a long way at getting all of the reservoirs in the southwest filled back up again!
