Sunshine Daydream And The Long Strange Trip

Hi everyone. I'm starting this thread to use as our travel journal as we are getting ready for our maiden voyage.

This Friday we will be leaving for Snow Canyon State Park down in our little corner of the Mojave Desert near St. George Utah. The weather forecast looks to be gorgeous with highs in the upper 70's and lows in the 40's. We will be there for 4 days.

We have stayed at this park before in our old teardrop. It is a great place for late fall and early spring camping and is a gorgeous place to visit with lots of great hiking and a very nice bike trail.

I will be sure to post lots of pictures when we return!

Sunshine daydream, walkin in the tall trees
Going where the wind blows
Blooming like a red rose
Breathing more freely...

Snow Canyon State Park is a great place for the first trip. Some day I will return to the wonderful National and State Parks in Utah.

Professor Valley - Colorado River

3 Nights
494 miles round trip

Just got back from camping for 3 nights along the Colorado River. This was a trip with the Utah Whitewater Club and we were supposed to run the river but it was too cold and rainy for me so we didn't even rig our boat up. Besides I have run this stretch a number of times so I was just as happy to sit and camp and read and enjoy the views.

Here are a couple of our friends who didn't let the cold stop them:

Uinta Mountains / Lost Creek Campground

7 Nights
128 Miles Round Trip

Just spend a whole week at a nice little campground close to home doing a lot of relaxing and very little else. Did a bit of fly fishing and a lot of reading. Very nice to get out of the heat of the valley. Quite cold and rainy for the first half of the trip. Last half was more sunny with temps in the high 60's and low 70's.

There was a young bull moose in the campground several evenings and one night while doing the dishes, he came right through our camp site!

You have moose!?!?! I never see moose until several years...in Canada...in Alberta...an acre away...in a mustard field. You get him in camp!

It's a rotten jip.

But good for you. Looks like tons of fun.
