The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

Spotted another teardrop trailer on the Olympic Peninsula today, this one is pretty spectacular, Craig the owner said it's a 1937 A Road, very sweet!

Get a load of those cool buckle down leather straps!

Craig was at this years Red Wood gathering and remembers the Camp-Inns. Craig says hello to Bear, Dave and Dixie.

I'm telling ya the Peninsula is a teardrop trailer Mecca, when can I expect you?

Heheh, Sept 24-29th....

Salt Creek, blender is a purring....

Supposedly another TD, home-built, might be there too, but he's fallen to the "Dark Side" and got a Scampi or something like that, little Bubble Trailer, I think? Haven't seen it yet, he was going to sell his Homemade TD and get one.... why? you ask? hehheh, he found a Lady Friend... who wants indoor plumbing and stand up room.. 'Turn-Coat' he is.. LOL... fun...

Well, if the blender is a purring the Dew Drop Inn crew could be occurring. We may just see you out there Frank... never been...sure sounds nice.

Michael

Kewl, Red Canopy, Silver TD with Stickers... heheh, as you know...

I have nothing planned just sit with the campfire watching the boats go by... I'll be out in the open area, #28...

Hope you can make it, It's a nice place and sort of the opening, IMNSHO, of the OLY Peninsula, North route...

Fun...

We're firming up plans to join you out there at Salt Creek next weekend Frank, we looked at the reservation site and there are a lot of sites available, we may just wing it and cruise through the day of and hope for the best. Anyone else game, we could have an impromptu west coast early fall roundup!

Michael

That's great Michael, looking forward to it...

There are usually plenty of sites available, I just reserve the one I wanted at the time. Being the first time I'm out in the Open area where the "Big Boys" roam, it's ONLY cause I haven't camped in that section and I wanted a campfire pit directly in back, not to the side.

Otherwise I'd be back into the forest area on the point, much better sites, no power, but more private and green, close access to the point which is a must see.

It would be fun if anyone else could be there. I"ve been going for the last 3 yrs and before when I dove it, off and on a lot.

Fun...

On the point...

The Dewey crew (Talelayo crew today) are out for a sail along the beautiful Olympic Peninsula coastline. The Peninsula isn't just for teardrop trailer camping! We are taking up winter residence in Point Hudson Harbor, if you find yourself in Port Townsend come by and see us.

I have to fly up to Seattle (Redmond really) for a couple of days around Oct. 9th. Would love to meet some of you folks just not sure how much time I will have Msft usually consumes most of my time while up there.

Come on over to the Peninsula Jay, you won't be disappointed, some call these parts the last great wilderness in the lower 48.

Spotted this beer in a Whidbey Island Grocer, you gotta try a beer that has a vintage travel trailer on the label right.

photo18.jpg

Detour, Uinta Brewing Co. double IPA

Great beer! It's a double so it's hardcore just like vintage and retro travel trailer enthusiasts!

Michael

Kewl, and they have one with an actual TD if I remember correctly...
I had a pic of it somewhere.. but nice...
is it good??

Very tasty beer, this Utah brewer has got it going on, lots of hops and big malt flavor for body... yeah I know it's just a beer( just a beer?!) but it's so good...we'll save you one Frank...see you in a few days... If all goes according to plan.

Michael

Kewl,
I do have what I call a beer Exchange... it's a temp red cooler and those that participate bring a 6-pac, put it in the cooler and then everyone tries each others beers.... sort of a Beer taste test of sorts...

Warning though, the cooler is all "Stickered" up like the blenders etc... heheh

Previous tasters...

It's fun to try new beers.. I'll bring mine and my friend, if they show, will bring theirs...

What's ever left you take back of course..

This will be fun... nothing planned but watching the boats go by and waive to Victoria, BC..

fun... Anyone else??? it's a great spot..

you are STILL drinking that lousy tequila?

Life is too short!! Dump Jose. Get yourself some Cazadores Blanco for the margaritas.

:)

Heheh, next pic is this...

fpoole_SaltCrkOct2013-215.jpg

This better Al????....

We did have a comparison... and Antlers (Caza) won hands down... but???
I did notice the Caza was probably a little Toooo smooth for 'ritas.. didn't have "Bite" to it... not to mention $$$.. But, yah, much smoother...

It gets a 2 Shot Glass vote... the winner...

fpoole_SaltCrkOct2013-232.jpg

But have to say Al, you are right on... when I was down in Bonaire having "Shooters" a friend snidely mentioned "....Well, you haven't "lived" until you try Caza..."
I told her "kewl, then I have "Lived..."
heheh for shooting, it's the best I've had...

Thanks again for the info...

It's all Fun N' Games...
Until the next morning...heheh..

:-)

Glad you did the taste taste!! I also like the Milagro for margs.

I just bought some Caz blanco, so we will see how that is in the margaritas.

The Cuervo is cheap, and the Caz is expensive......At our local Safeway you can get a decent deal if you wait for the sale and then buy 6. But it's still more $ than Cuervo.

I nevr quitre understood that line in the Steely Dan song, "the Cuervo Gold, the fine Colombian" - seems they should be singing about Patron or some such, not Cuervo. But it wouldn't be the first pop culture reference that I didn't "get"

I just bought 6 Caz and went camping, ....and my wife LEFT THE LIQUOR HOME!!! So I had to stop and buy more since I was hosting the margaritas. At least we talked about it while we were still in the city, so I could grab some more!

AlCat,

Dude. Are you really from Cali?

The Steely Dan song: "Hey 19" refers to an old codger trying to seduce a 19 year old.
He uses Cuervo Gold as well as some "fine Colombian" which refers to either cannabis or more likely (since it was the 80's) cocaine.

Allegedly.
