The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

Hehe, yah, just don't make it look like the TABs.. Gawd Awful IMNSHO... or that other one...

Forest River R-Pod

So I'm not sure just how it would/could look but just don't like'em style-wise...

My friend was looking at those and the TAB as I simply informed that if he got one, we'd be camping at the opposite sides of the campground.. heheh..

I'm sure CampINN would be able to Class it up as they have done already...

fun...

I'll stick to my game plan for now...

Funny Frank, now I really know why you off season camp, so you don't have to look at the big ugly RVs. I think the 800 series can be made to look as beautiful and appealing as the 500 series, no stripes necessary. I chuckle when I see those explosion of strips on wheels roll by, I suppose it's an attempt to take the ugly out, but it's never successful, if anything the ugly gets worse.

Camp-Inns are timeless and that kind of design never goes out of style and is never embarrassing.

Heheh, Yah, Michael, it comes under the "T" in the "BKT"s... Traffic, Crowding, 4' of open space between the two..

While I used to "Not Care for" the Air Streams in the past, I do like the newer smaller ones... they look nice and classy. The Tandem Wheels might help, IMNSHO, the looks on those Bloated TD Wanna bees like the Tab and the other ones....

These are nice, short, compact etc and covers it all or the next few sizes depending upon best use etc...

sport_16_exterior1.jpg

heheh, probably why they are priced for Lotto winners only...
sigh...

You hooked me Frank with all your great pictures of Salt Creek. I'm heading there the 15th thru 18th. I'm really looking forward to it.

Well Pat, you'll enjoy it if you like the coastal views....
It's a great place, one of my favs...

Have fun... Should be late enough for good spots by then, but if not, at least you'll be able to figure out what you'd want for the next time.

And there are a lot of side day trips, Hurricane ridge, Sol Duc Springs... resort isn't much but the falls are..

Anyway, hava good one. I'm planning on being out there the following week.. meeting a friend who built his TD and I believe now has moved on to the Type above, a Scampi or like trailer... The stand up ones...
Getting old Sucks.. heheh.. have fun...

and now, back to Michael's thread... kewl trailer eh??

Susan and I have never been to Salt Creek, but since it's practically in the neighborhood we may just come by and visit you out there Pat.

Yeah Frank, the small Airstreams sure are cute what's not to love, all those shiny curves and all, but because they are so much bigger than a teardrop with the need for a much larger tow vehicle, more frequent trips to the pump etc., Susan and I call them coughdrops.

Michael

I followed your advice Frank and hope we avoided TBKs.
That would be fun Michael. Come on out. We haven't made our day plans yet and will probably go on to stay a few days somewhere else too.
It would take a lot longer to wash one of those too. Especially the ones with a lot of rivets.
Why doesn't someone invent a new RV toilet. It doesn't have to be one of those big white things. We need to think outside the box.

Ahhhh! What a difference a day makes, Sequim Bay SP was packed with campers yesterday...

... off season is back! It's safe to camp again.

The Dew Drop Inn crew

Yep, it seems to drop by about 50%..and even more by the end of the month... sweet... let the camping season begin....

end of month start date... kewl...

Saw this trailer earlier in the season at the KOA Seattle, just came across it again in my photo file on my phone, sure looks interesting, some kind of pop up, flip up, tilt up, etc. Nice paint job, I'm sure it's someone's version of the perfect camper.

A teardrop trailer? I don't know, maybe not, cool though.

Michael

Speaking of the KOA Seattle, when Susan and I camped there earlier in the year we found the accommodations so cramped that our neighbors slide was over our sites picknick table so we couldn't use it. We've camped at a few campgrounds now where the picknick tables were awkwardly located and next to impossible to move because of their heft. Wouldn't it be nice we thought if we had a portable dining table that we could move around. We were in REI this last weekend and discovered Camp Time's Roll a Table and snapped it up.

We think it's going to be a valuable addition to our camp gear.

Michael

I have that one too. Got it a few years ago. I haven't had a situation recently where we have used it camping, but it was handy when I didn't have my cooler stand as an extra surface. They are sturdier than they look too (not for coolers, but in general).

Yah, I have 3 of them and use them all the time. The mini square one, the longer one and then they have a newer one that you an extend out.. makes for a nice table... Aluminum... sturdy... Nice as nice as the blue ones, but I put the plastic picnic cover on them.

expandable I think?

Tent camping fun.... NOT !!! heheh

Thanks for the info Frank. I have a small one that I put the Cobb grill on but thats about all it will hold. This one looks to be a little better in quality and I like the size and adjustable legs. Michael the blue one looks great too.

Yah, Diane, Yah, it's all fun and games once it's set up...
until the wind blows, the rain pours down and the dust storms hit...

and a PITA for a single person to put/down... I never, hardly, do the rain fly, the canopy is much easier... I've never really had the rain fly up correctly... I just find the 4 real corners and stake it...

Oh yes, we definitely have had the rain and wind and dust experiences...in daylight and in the middle of the night! I do love tent camping, but am going to love TD camping even more...I just know it!!

Heheh Michael, Stop!!!!

You're killing me.. Speakers, flashlights... Yikes... My credit cards are starting to Rumble and Shake.. heheh..

I use the Petzl head bands for most lights that I need, Gawd, I must have over 20+ of them in various modes of refinement.

I like the head band/hands free part and the Red filter option for night I use all the time..

I've got two in the cab, one on each side hook, one in the stove area and the rest are scattered about, pretty much lost track of them, but a welcome surprise when I open up a travel bag and find 1, A-hem or more, heheh, got a little carried away over the years.

The Main Gripe I have about the petzls is that blasted battery door. It's always opening up and throwing out a battery or won't close enough to stay on. Not good when walking home on a trail and the batteries are sooo small hiding in the dirt/shrubs.. much like Sasquatch, often talked about, never seen...

Finally found my new best friend, the blue Painter's Tape... non-stick residue, easy to use, off/on again, no fuss, no muss.. so averted that issue... for now anyway...

but thanks for the thought, heheh... hmmmm.. let me see what I can find for you.. bottle opener? LOL..

Fun, finding gadgets are always fun to find... the hard part is.... Finding the box or storage that they'll fit into after the novelty wears off..

Heading off to Juniper Sand Dunes, Pasco and then down to Klamath Falls, Oregon KOA for some trail riding with "Nellie".....

fpoole_SouDough-133.jpg

Can't take 'Le Droppe' yet.. working on it though, maybe by end of year...

Cheers..

Frank, is Nellie the RZR? She is pretty. I am still riding two wheels (Yamaha WR250F) for the time being. Since the wife doesn't really ride much I have been considering getting the RZR side by side. I saw that you can squeeze them into the back of a full size truck with the tailgate down. Not sure if that burries the hithc or not but like you, I would want a way to get both toys and the teardrop out at the same time without resorting to yet a second, larger trailer to haul both.

Joan let us sit in her Strongback Elite camp chair at this years Northwest Roundup, Susan and I were very impressed, they are very very comfortable. So when LLBean sent us a 20% discount coupon we jumped at the chance to retire our director chairs. We love our director chairs, we've had a number of them over the past 30 years and until the Strongback came along couldn't find anything more comfortable.

The Strongback has an extra tube that provides a decent amount of lumbar to support your lower back in a healthy sitting position.

photo6.jpg

They fold up like any run of the mill sack chair so they are easy to stow.

Thanks Joan.
