Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

I pulled a lighter utility trailer down to Illinois to pick up a wood stove. I only got 16.7 mpg on the 1,500 mile trip. Of course I was going 75 in a 70 zone. I normally drive 5 under the limit but this time I had more money than time.

I'm watching for one of those vans :) -- I actually want a cargo version. Trouble with those is they tend to be formerly commercial and have been used and abused!

The company I work for has one in the back lot that has less than 10,000 miles on it and is a few years old --- but its the exception, and I don't think they will be selling it any time soon.

The 10 speed transmission feels very strange to drive...even more so than CV

I think former commercial vehicles can be the very best or the very worst. A year ago vans were going for $20K over MSRP with 60K miles on them. The 12 and 15 passenger busses were also in high demand My 7 passenger luxury van didn’t have a lot of demand and I got a good deal on it. The husband was going through a divorce and she was going to get the actual sale price. He sold it for the least he thought he could get away with.

The fall colors around here are gorgeous. I took this picture of Timms Hill from my front porch.
Yes, we went from very little color to peak in about a week.
Got out Saturday afternoon to take a look from the air near Mille Lacs Lake, MN

wonderful photos....Makes me ...what...whats the temperatures?

The van stuff -- yeah its still bad. The crap being produced by the car companies today has a lot of people opting for older vehicles. I am seeing the periodic white cargo van (old chevy's) but they sell fast. If I do what I"m thinking about doing, i definitely need one. Or a used ambulance, but those have usually spent so much time idling...even if they are lower mileage (they never are) they are high time. Which is worse.

We'll see how tomorrow goes --- its the "big day" for a huge project that is coming to an end. God help me.

Well, that was pretty fun!

In 2020 I was on the forum pretty much every day, sometimes (often) several times a day. Then, when I was displaced at the job finding real work my involvement changed -- but I still visited the site several times a week if not daily.

When I 'hit' the site and found it offline a few weeks ago, I'm just glad it wasn't in 2020!

I can't wait to hear from my friends to see what happened while everyone has been away....

It was great to finally find the forum back online today. Thanks for assisting the home nest in getting things working again. Hopefully a new server will help avoid a repeat of the long downtime.

I was about ready to stop checking.

I'm a bit afraid of that. I know the forum software can email forum members with announcements and such. This is an owner/moderator question -- I'm just the tech jockey that got us back to this point :) What we have right now is working pretty well, but is a temporary fix. I'm actually kind of surprised --- maybe its just me but the forum seems a lot faster...

I sincerely didn't realize how much I liked this forum just as part of my daily routine. Especially as my career path is changing again, I now have more free time on my hands and will need the social interaction from somewhere, since I am a bit of a hermit :D

I’ve only made one post since it went back up so I can’t say how it is different other than I shouldn’t post pictures.

I removed that -- go ahead and post. A condition existed that I was concerned about --- that is resolved I hope :) Getting things back up and stable is sometimes an incremental process.

It’s raining on my 560. When I got back from CI-CO I left it outside. Looks like I’m going to get wet after church putting it in the garage by hand.

Edit: It stopped raining and I ran out and moved it into the garage. The forecast is for rain all day. Now I can watch the Packer game after Church and not have to worry about it. I drained the tanks yesterday and still need to winterize it.
Nice soft water wash down!

I agree it does seem faster. Thank you Sweeney for getting the forum back online!

You're Welcome! But I have to admit to doing it for selfish reasons :) Still a little bit more maintenance to perform, but getting it back up and running was the priority. I felt a strange and even a bit profound void when I saw that horrible screen....

The timing was also perfect, as my 'work schedule' cleared giving me the time to do it. Knowing now what needed to be done, I could recover it again in a couple of hours -- but starting from scratch, the "thinking" part along with a few false starts probably took closer to 15 in total. Not including a "OK, Time to sleep on it - then when I awokein the morning the solution was 'obvious'"
