First Wax - Help!

It has been a few years since we picked up our Hideaway (560), and it is way past time for a protective wax. I am finally comfortable with spot removal, I found a great product from Australia that takes off my sunscreen marks! I am confused about the difference between Walbernizing and waxing - or is it the same? What kind of wax do you use? Most importantly, while buffing the wax off, do I need to worry about it losing the patina and getting reflective shiny? I hope to be able to use a car waxing buffer that has a sheep wool kind of head on it. I find a lot of comments about the patina etc. but I cannot find anything that answers my question about waxing. Does anyone have advice? OR what is the name of the material that they are made of on the outside and I can google it

Another owner does 50% Walbernize and 50% Flitz Metal polish. I'd used Flitz with success on other items in the past, so had some. For me it's been a great combo. I made the mistake of writing a vacation message on the back of our sandy back hatch. After washing, it looked like it would never come off. Buffer with the products above was great.

I have walbernized at the end of the year but only did the rub on wipe off method without a buffer.

Some may call this sacreligious:) if I were to go this route I would consider some type of vinyl wrap instead of paint. great idea. I’ve seen wraps on rvs before, they look really good...and they come off easily. If the need ever arises...not much unlike the screen protectors.

Cary once suggested calling semi truck service shops- like the ones you might see along the interstate, where they offer cleaning and polish for those large shiny fuel tanks on some.

I'd echo the caution in handling anything strong- read the label or look up the Material Safety Data Sheet on anything strong and use appropriate hand, eye, and breathing protection.

@MikeandChar as I'm guessing you moticed, this forum is a goldmine of info if you search a bit, using the built in search function or outside in ysing your favorite search engine or even AI.

But I digress and did not answer the "what pad and buffer to use"
