The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

This is a great time of year to be at El Capitan SP campground. It's among the 100 best campgrounds in the west according to Sunset magazine. Have to agree, wonderful views of the Pacific from the bluff top location, (very good place to observe the Gray Whale migration) lots of mature trees and plenty of room between sites, we pretty much have the place to our lonesome, just a few other well behaved campers, heh that's just the way we like it!

...look what's parked next to us...

...this combo should be irresistible to any and all teardrop travel trailers passing through, none yet but we expect them any minute...

... saw this picture on line and thought I'd post it here, we're not the only ones noticing that teardrops and baked potatoes like to snuggle up. This photo will have to do until the real thing shows up.

Michael

Envious of all your travels. We are around zero and with snow in the forecast for overnight again.

Saw this way cool 4 by 8 at an RV lot in Beaumont CA. Salesman said it was made in LA in 1947...

...he said it wasn't for sale, they park it out front as a form of advertising...yeah go figure that a teardrop trailer would attract a crowd... ;-)

Heheh, "Baked Potatoe"(sp) Funny

Looks like a great trip. Are you going to try Colorado River or Utah?

Hi Frank

I'd love to head home by way of Utah but we have to be back in Port Townsend by the 1st week of April. This is a picture I took of Bryce Canyon in mid April of 2010.

It was still pretty darn cold with knee deep snow on the trails. May is a better Utah month, much warmer, the snow is gone and the kiddies are still safely in school. Maybe next year.

We're gonna hang around in SoCal, take in the spring wildflowers at Anza Borrega SP then make a mad dash up the 5 with a stop at Silver Falls. Your post certainly cemented our plans to visit that beautiful place.

For now we are enjoying the snow from the safety of the desert valleys.

We haven't seen big flashy displays of desert wildflowers this year, maybe not enough rain, might be too early, or just in the wrong place at the wrong time. What we have seen is a more intimate display of the bloomin desert!

"Spring has Sprung" early, here in Anza Borega SP, I'll say, it was 91 degrees in the shade today!

Nice, those colors blow me away... out in the middle of "No Man's Land".. Poofff !!!... colors.. heheh.. nice but the "Prickly" situation due to no rain eh?? bummer...

They should still be out, sometime?? nice..

Envious for those hot temperatures! It is cold and windy here with snow coming tomorrow! Love seeing the blooms in your photos.

Pretty! I'm in Texas hill country for just over another week. Supposedly the flowers are amazing here in spring but there hasn't been much out yet, hope the big show starts before I leave. :)
