Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

My problem isn't the planning --- its that I get in a hurry to get to my next stop, and I wind up missing the little side adventures. I tend just want to 'get there'

What I NEED to do is plan like plan like 3-4 hour daily travel -- then force myself to stop at 'things'

Its 43 here right now at 11am. Mother nature is off her meds again....

Sounds like a plan to me.;)

Too slow with the camera --- but I just got to see an American Bald Eagle in my neighborhood. He was having a pleasant lunch conversation with a squirrel. I need to convince my miscreant cat that running through the door is a bad idea.

Temperatures made it to mid 50's which is horrible for cops I am sure, but boy do I love the feeling of warm sun on you in cool air.

We ran out of coffee today --- then I remember "Wait! Camper-stash!" -- emergency situation averted. Normally I don't drink falvored coffee -- but Michigan Cherry was pretty satisfying

It’s currently 28F after a low last night of 22. Wisconsin had a few tornadoes in the last few days but they were mostly close to the Illinois border. Nothing this far north.
Only one F3 about 15 - 20 miles SE of my house in Ringle just east of Wausau

I make hard plans and if I don’t stick to them it doesn’t work. I usually add a lot of freestyle days so it’s not like I’m on a tight schedule.

That is cool -- I remember just about every camp site I've st ayed at, perhaps not able to list them but if I"m driving I've got a great memory for "we've been here...and it was [terrible|great]" I just forget to slow down.

Looks like you do some long days! See a few in the list with 9 hours...thats about my comfortable limit though I can power on for 23 hours as I've done MANY times in the past. Its just not fun. Of course, it was a lot easier when Art Bell was on at night.

I love driving so it’s no big deal. I leave Thursday for a road trip to Marco Island , FL. The first day is only 225 miles so the second and third days will be 725 and 750 miles. I’m taking just the van and it’s configured for sleeping although we will be staying at a Drury Inn. The kicker is one of the passengers is 100 years old. Funny thing is she travels better than her 78 year old daughter who needs lots of potty breaks.

Are you coming to the east coast of Florida?

I’ve listened many nights to Art Bell.

Not this trip. Last time we went to Daytona. This will be my first trip to Marco Island.

This van is almost as good as the CI. In some ways it’s more practical although not nearly as cool.
The back seat folds down to a very comfortable bed.

I love driving too.. probably missed my calling as an OTR. But that is all too late now. I do think Ben;g away from home for weeks would have been a problem,

Not the life of a family man….that I wish I was.
