Battery Array Project

You do know the solar controller maxes out at 120 watts/10 amps, right?

The article I posted goes into detail about solar controllers and how most on the market are pretty terrible that doing their job. I would probably end up replacing the one in the TD/RD.

The idea of the integrated panel is zero setup. The problem of shade can be circumvented by creative use of bypass and blocking diodes. The solar cells themselves don't weigh anything of significance, they are nearly paper thing. The weight would come from the 1/8" to 1/4" thick encasing resin, which still wouldn't be that much.

Anybody have the roof dimensions on the raindrop? I was thinking I could probably prototype a "panel" on some plywood, or even build it on some thin plywood for easy install and removal.

I'm curious about how this project turned out. Seems to me that the clear casting resin would be destroyed over time but UV from the sunlight. Even plastics that contain UV inhibitors don't last all that long in Florida sun
