Another Lock question

So I've had my lovely 550 classic for a year now. Haven't had a chance to go anywhere but it's been well sheltered. Now one of the locks feels like it's LOCKED all the time. The little sliding panel over the keyhole was definitely in place but I managed to get some WD-40 in there and it still feels - Locked. Not gritty, not resistant. Just Locked. Before I go forward with something drastic (for me) like taking the whole door lock out and letting the WD-40 seep in with gravity; I was wondering if this square peg sticking out on the not-working door means anything.

I included a picture of the square peg on the other -working- side for reference.

I'd give the nest a call...The locks are easy to change and its frustrating to deal with it when 'fit & finish' isn't right.

Did you try reversing the key in the lock? One way will feel locked reverse it and it should work.

Gently shake the handle while gently turning the key. Kinda like turning a key in a car to release the steering wheel lock.

Ya see that funky wide u-shaped thingy?

Thats you inside door lock.

If that is pushed in to "locked" or gets jiggled to lock by a piece of gear stacked in there, you wont be able to move the outside handle or unlock from outside with key.

Just reach across inside from other door and unlock that by toggling the u shaped thing to unlock handle.

For that reason that lever is taped in our camper so it cannot move to the locked position. Previous owner told me that it can lock itself if the doors slam shut. He got completely locked out once!

You can remove the outside handle by taking the two phillips screws out of the outer escutcheon. The handle then pulls out and you can work on it. As others have said, the inside locking lever might be the issue if it is pushed to 'lock'. Have you tried jiggling the handle whilst turning the key?

My dog came lock the door using this latch. I almost never lock the windows just so I can push through the screen.
