We used Velcro cable ties, 3/4" brass flat head wood screws, and 'decorative washers' to mount the table extension bracket on the bottom of the table for storage during traveling. The table is about 3/4" thick, but after the screws go though the Velcro and the decorative washer, they only go about 1/2" into the table bottom. Just make sure your pilot hole is only about 1/2' deep. I can send individual pictures if you want.
