1st Successful hunt with the Camp-Inn ready to go

Here was a hunt at Land Between the Lakes. This type of outing was my main attraction to a tear drop. I would no longer have to pitch a tent. (145 pounds...9 point...3 1/2 years old)

I would never have though of that use for the cargo carrier. Nice job.

Steve,

Is that one one that constantly runs across the road?

Hey, you look ready to play Santa, beard and all!!!!!

Charlie,
I was first attracted to the tear drop world just for hunting. It would allow me to hunt a few hours away without setting up a tent. After I stumbled upon the Camp-Inn website, I began to get serious. I talked to Ellen and we started to work out our finances. I will mention dollars here because we all know the cost. I had my "tent on wheels" capped at something less than 10K. Cary got us in touch with a local customer.
I explained to Ellen I did not plan to get TV, AC, Propane, Water. After we saw a 550 with all the stuff, we got TV, AC, Propane, and Water. My 10K tent on wheels went to 15K. I am very pleased. Ellen and I have used it more to camp than I have used it to hunt. That's a good thing.
I love hunting from the 550. It is perfect. I can use the Forrester as the tow vehicle. I wanted a unit where I did not cook where I slept. The tear drop was the ticket and Camp-Inn was the show.

Evan, The cargo carrier used as a deer hauler was always the plan. This keeps me from buying a truck just to haul a deer. Thanks on the login thing.

Jean, HO, HO, HO! This deer did not see many blacktop roads. Maybe the next one.

Ken, Thanks, Even a blind hog can find an acorn every now and then

George, I have cleared the water system and added the RV antifreeze. 18 degrees forecast for the next few nights. But I will continue to go out for the rest of the season. Last year we only shut down for the month of February.

I just threw the continue to go camping ball into the court on another forum that I frequent. So far just one nibble, but the pixels are still wet, so we will see. I am so not ready to pack it in.

So far Peggy and I have just talked about it, George. But at least we're having the conversation, something that's never happened before ;) It's pretty cold here right now, with lows forecast in single digits into the week. I guess we'll see what we're really made of...

I would be afraid to take my CI out on the salted roads, but here in the south, they brine, and once they put that down, I wait for a couple good rains b4 I venture out with my camper. So far we have the cold (20's), but no need for brine, so I can still entertain the idea of taking my home on wheels out for an adventure.

Beautiful buck! Congrats!
And I love your beard! Tim's is similar -he lets it grow out this time of year. When he wears a red shirt, small children stop and ask if he is Santa! A high light of his year!

Great looking buck Steve...darn it all. Montana did not give out tags this year for dear or Antelope, so none for me. Next year go Javalina hunting in Arizona though. Wish me luck!!!

Todd

Thanks, The herd in Tennessee is managed for maximum hunter opportunity. The hunters are the ones forcing the age structure higher. We are at three bucks a season and three does a day.
Javalina...I do wish you luck.
