Itinerary 10th Annual Camp-inn Camp-outt Website Active

Hi guys-

I have been swinging violently between 'I am going!' and 'I am NOT going!', and I think based on everything we have been up to and are going to be up to, it is best for me to stay home this year. This is breaking my heart, because I had it set on coming all year. Laddy and I have put over 7000 miles on the car in the last two months, and we haven't had much time at home until this weekend. Plus, Mick's parents just flew back to London on Thursday after a 10 day visit, I am 5 days off the flu, Laddy starts Kindergarten on Tuesday, Mick flies to Asia for two weeks on Monday, and I am feeling exhausted and overwhelmed (but that could be the result of the kids birthday party we threw yesterday for Laddy's birthday this week). I am just feeling like I need to go a little easier on myself. I am disappointed though.

So you all will just have to have a whole lot more fun (just for me), take lots of pictures, and I will hope to make it out next year. It won't be the big #10, but it was going to be the big #1 for us anyway, and I will just have to wait a little longer to earn my long haul. :(

Everyone travel safe. If things change, I will let you know. You just never know. Right now, this just feels right.

OH Mannnnn..... Bummer....

But I KNOW the "Overwhelmed - need a break" feeling... don't worry, I'll be taking a lot of pics (since I won't be setting things up) and I'm sure Stephen will have more better ones too.

Will set up the "Missing Campers Chair" with a Margarita for you.. heheh
Take care.

When I'm back will be doing some things down in your neck of the woods, Silver Falls, Sand dunes and Zip line so I'll be looking for ideas on campsites... not a big deal, just if you've been there, your preferences..

Have fun...

Just now planning on the route over there and down, what a PITA..heheh.. cheers...

I prefer your mudslides actually, so if you could set up the missing camper chair with that, I would be in heaven! :)

Definitely happy to give suggestions about places. Not sure which Zipline you are doing. There is one in Warrenton that is meant to be really good, near the coast (Astoria area), and you could stay at Fort Stevens SP. You can go shoot the most photographed ship wreck in America (the Peter Iredale). Nice place there. It is also really close to Fort Clatsop, in case you want to check that out too. Have lots of other suggestions too. Just ask!

Well Sarah - I guess that makes you and I even. "Life" got in the way of my attending the Pacific Northwest outing, and "Life" is getting in the way of your attending CICO. Perhaps next year we will both make it to both events.

I want you to know that I think of you each and every time I pull an ice cold drink out of my Dometic and replace it with a warm one. I'm sure everyone does this, and perhaps I would have eventually figured this out on my own; but it was you who alleviated my anxiety during my pre-teardrop research phase by sharing this little trick with me.

Ah, thanks Rick! That is so nice of you.

It would have been great to have meet you too, and hopefully next year we will cross paths. I have plans in the hopper so we'll see what comes to fruition. I am not going to pack our summer as full as I did this year. It was fun, but way too much for all of us. More Montana is definitely on the list! And the NWRU of course! And maybe some Alberta and BC. And Laddy wants to get to Arches again. And the Grand Canyon is on the list. And.... So many options!

Travel safe!

Betsy sad to say our names are not on the list. We have family matters that need our attention. We will miss all of you. Have a great time.

Pat, I was looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully all is well with your family and we will meet some other time down the road.

Note, The Dutch Oven demo/ QA will be an all day senario.
I will be making dump cobblers for the saturday evening deserts.
What I like to do is answer questions and demo cast iron care.
If you have a piece that (skillet) that you are currently using, but not happy with the "non stick" of your pan, bring it by and we will doctor it up for you. Just don't be allergic to honey.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this year.

Hi All!

These are posted on the Camp-Outt website under the "Maps" tab but I am also posting the link here.

Camp-Outt Directions & Maps

DO NOT use your GPS to locate the park!!! Trust me on this one...the info it gives you will NOT get you to the campground.

Safe travels!

On a different note, email updates with info on the Camp-Outt have been sent. If you did not receive one (check your SPAM folder just in case for an email from Camp-Inn), please let me know. I only had one email bounce back as undeliverable & I have taken care of that one already.

Wow. An amazing 24 hours of meeting people in "real life" whom I have only previously seen on-line: Evan (and Lena and Katie), Bear, Anna&Steve, Joan, fpoole, McNugit.

And how wonderful to see others who feel like dear friends even though I've only met them once or twice: KathyBob, Jerry & Tina, Sherry, JEN!, Jim and Sue (jsl), Jean, Dave and Becky (oly), Craig.

I was able to participate in the annual wrangling of picnic tables event, and watch Craig REPEATEDLY risk his life by standing on a tall half open step ladder that was precariously leaning against a tree WHILE BARELY SITTING ON A PICNIC TABLE.

And CICO hasn't even officially begun yet.

And it has only just begun, have fun everyone! Wishing we too were there. Presently holding down the fort in the great PNW.

PS We will be there, in Necedah, in 54 days to pick up our own 550.

ENJOY!

I'm sure this will be an amazing and memorable event. Wish we could be there, even if it would be in a tent! Maybe next year though...in our soon-to-be-born 560!

I hope all of you going have as much fun as you can possibly handle, and safe travels to and fro!

Rick great to see you are an owner this year and settling into the great adventure. Remembering your happy spirit last year I can just imagine the big smiles on your face.

Thanks Pat! I really am still smiling every time I climb into MY very own 560. I appreciated your kind and gentle hospitality last year. Thank you!

Looking for an IP address for the CICO campfire webcam! Where is it? We want to join in from our living room and roast some digital marshmallows!

heheh, you laugh.... Can do, I can set up a Skype and chat, no Problem-O... just need to know when... I'm set up to do video & Skype if that works... believe Google has it too, but now sure how it works..
I do have the Vid Cam so that's not an issue... heheh, stay tuned.... (of course bandwidth usage is an issue... Vid,you can stream and run through a lot in no time... but can be done my friend.. worse case, I'll get some pics of the S'Mores being cooked and THEN ENJOYED, heheh...
