I have been thinking about a trip to the peninsula. I mentioned to my friend that I wanted to camp on Whidby Island and then continue on over by ferry but when I looked for camping on Whidby they were really full up. I thought it would be a good opportunity to get the scarey ferry ride out of the way. I've been on the ferry with my car but not with a trailer.
We went up to Cowboy Camp instead. Had a good time but nothing new to see. I rode my bike up the logging and a deer crossed about 20 feet in front of me. It sure is amazing how they can disappear right after they go into the trees.

Pat, Thanks for the encouragement. I figured the ferry crew would know where to park me so I wouldn't have to make any corners. I hope you went up to Hurricane Ridge and got to see all the big trees in the old growth forests. Oh my gosh, what about the light houses. So much to see, so little time.
Looking good Michael. It looks like you have plenty of space around your outfit on the ferry. Where are you going to stay on Whidby? I really want to explore over there before too long. I'm kind of caught up on the work around here. Have fun and thanks for the encouragement.

We were in site #17 at Fort Casey SP, right on Admiralty Inlet with views of the ferry, sailboats, ships...nice spot. We are now in line for the ferry back to the peninsula, our cabin sole should be dry by now.
Jim and Ani, thanks for thinking of us, we don't have a collection of Dew Drop Inn pictures so we appreciate you sending this one. We have fond memories of The Dew Drop Inn on Sanibel Is FL in the 80s, don't know if it's still there or not.

Wow, beautiful. Were you able to drive in and find a space? Everything I saw on the web site said they were all reserved except for a day here and there. Do they have some first come first served sites that are open during the week? I'm not much of a planner. More like to fly be the seat of my pants.
I'm getting into a little farming work and all the equipment needs greasing. Everything sits outside. It would take a big building to house all the ground working equipment. I hope I can get away soon.
That winter camping is looking better all the time. No BKT and plenty of camping spots. Also a lot less work at home to get behind in. Sometimes I would like to give up this place but my mom and daughter and son-in-law all live here too and it really is nice to be all together. There is always someone on the place to look out for things. My mom loves the flowers and works outside constantly. She is 94 and counting. I figure as long as she is able to do her flowers and enjoy the yard I will stay here.

It's dry!
The Dew Drop Inn really came through for Talelayo. Talelayo's crew had comfortable quarters while her cabin sole was being varnished, now that particular maintenance item is history. Well done Dewey!
Pat, we cruised through without a reservation, someone canceled, so we lucked out, it happens.

Hey, that was us. Sorry we missed you! We had a quick overnight to Deception Pass SP. Spent the afternoon in Anacortes to let rush hour in SEA abate. What were you doing over there?

The Peninsula is proving to be a Mecca for teardrops.
Saw this diminutive 4/8 in PT this morning.
Some say that imitation is the highest form of flattery and you know that you've achieved success when they study your moves and copy your grooves.
Well here my friends is the proof of those wise words...when is a Camp-Inn not a Camp-Inn, when it's a close copy...
Susan and I pulled up to this teardrop trailer this afternoon in Sequim and said to the owners " Love your Camp-Inn, we have one just like it" and they responded "What's a Camp-Inn" . We did a double take and realized that indeed the trailer we were looking at was off a bit from what we were used to. At first glance, it's a Camp-Inn for sure and then when you look close you realize it's not.
The folks that had it said it was built in Oregon, they've had it for two years and I believe they said that they're the second owners.
Look familiar!

Close, but no cigar! Pretty crazy how similar it is, but the details are way off. You can't imitate that or the customer service we get.
Would've fooled us too Michael, but the devil is indeed in the details.

P.S. Dang, we've driven from the Atlantic to the Pacific this year and have seen only one teardrop in the wild (i.e., last week near Brainard Lake a home-made job was parked on the side of the road.) Dewey's crew seems to get all the fun.
