Got a solar panel delivered today for our trip next week. Decided to go this route when we saw the extra fees for a sight with electricity in some of the national we will visiting plus there were going to some days where are at places without electricity too.
 
Hi! We're using our 100 watt panels often and they charge the trailer really well! We're at one spot now for over two weeks and our volt meter readings have been over 13 most of the time! Definitely a great investment!
 
Likewise just received our ZAMP 120 watt portable panels. Pricey but the quality matches the 560. Great semi hard case. We went with the 120w watt as we plan on being off the grid for 6 days this summer and wanted the extra watts for the Dometic F rig. R
 
Looking for a Zamp ZS-120-P (Gen. 6). On a wait list @ Solardealz, most vendors are out of stock due to parts shortage at Zamp. Any tips?

We are testing it today so we can shove off next Tuesday on our trip West. So far, so good.

We're you able to terminate the Zamp with a cigarrete lighter style pulg to plug directly into the solar socket on the side of the tariler?

That is the solar panel we got. Did you have to rewire it to work with the CI? We also got the solar connection put in by Camp Inn. There weren't any directions sent with the solar panel.

We also got a Renogy 100 watt folding panel. The way I wired it up was I got a 20 foot length of lamp cord (mc4 cable is just to heavy and stiff does not roll up easily). I connected mc4 connectors to one end which hook to the mc4 connectors on the panel, then wired the other end of the cord into the DC plug supplied with the trailer. positive wired to tip and negative wired to ring. Works wonderfully.
 
Towbert, got ours.from Ebay...Wholesale direct $569. See they have gone up since we received ours. Great seller shipped free and received in 3 days. Had planned on ordering from Solardealz how ever was told because of the Longshorman strike everthing is stuck in harbor backed up. They didnt expect any panel until August. We needed one before July first. Think ours is a gen 5 mayne 6....

I did call and speak with the folks at Zamp Solar, they are short on supply due to the long shoreman strike somewhere. Hope you found what you were after elsewhere. I did learn though from Zamp Solar that soon they will be sourcing their material and labor here in the USA. The gentleman I spoke with said that sometime after January 2016, their units would be made in Oregon!!!!
We try to buy made in USA as much as possible so this will be a win win for us. We plan on the 120 watt portable unit, some overkill I'm sure, but it may make up for some of those somewhat cloudy days when not getting the full 6.84 amps per hour.
 
My recollection is that Zamp also sold refurbished panels, which are a great deal. Often the only refurbing they had to do was solder a connection that had failed, and panel is good as new.

(but I see that stock may be low, or zero, at the refurb dealer)
 
Sorry Randy just saw this...we ordered our trailer pre-wired with the zamp external plug and did not have the solar package installed as the zamp panel is prewired...R

I've looked at a lot of posts on solar panels but still have a question about what wattage I need to keep up with a refrigerator. I will probably get a 100W unit but has anyone with a Dometic fridge done a week trip with that setup and kept their battery adequately alive?
 
We have a 120w folding panel I got on New Egg. It does a great job powering the Dometic. It seems to keep up even on cloudy days. When the sun goes down we always have a full battery, so we don't worry about power. I've heard that 100w panels work well too. It's nice being able to go off-grid with refrigeration.
