Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

I found TX state parks to be very well run (in the two I used three years ago).

Are you headed to Big Bend in the CI anytime in near future? Wondering how far you can get back when.

On my bucket list...looks gorgeous.
Not anytime soon. There are quite a few SPs around me that I want to see, and I want to set up for boondocking, dial in my gear better. Maaaaybe early spring. Maybe.

Thanks. I actually dig this and follow the amount of daylight each day. My app only rounds it to the nearest minute of sunrise and sunset and I do the math.

Actually, AI did the work -- I just asked questions.
Fall looks like it's finally going to hit here. Daring the weather gods to rain on a state park camping trip this coming weekend, but at least the temps will be in the mid-70's.
Mother nature is off her meds here -- probably not politically correct any more, but this week seems to be our "Indian summer" 93 yesterday 87 today. We'll see if it actually gets there...its 81 now, so probably not. Now, those are highs.

Saturday the low is supposed to be aroudn 38. 55 degree temperature swing in 5 days. Yup...welcome to Indiana.

I'm actually 'ready' for it. I usually am by this time of year.

Me too -- I actually have only stayed at one, and it was delightful EXCEPT for the people. Some one brought their dog and just left him. Literally nothing I could have done to help, the park was are of it and they were feeding him -- sadly they said there were more than 1 there and the employees kind of become the care takers.

The poor little guy though was obviously missing his people -- why I don't know, I guess this is proof dogs are better than people on too many cases. This poor guy was probably treated badly and he still 'loved' them.

Stuff like this happens all-too-often, and I get unreasonably angry at the unknown people who do it. When my dogs are with me on a trip, they are my first priority at all times. Why have one if they're not considered a part of the family vs "property"? Rhetorical question... If I had acreage I would have scooped up that little one and found him a new home.

Had a similar event happen here at my house. Someone drove into the neighborhood and dumped a little male Shih Tzu, about a year old. He was starving, scared and someone had shaved him really roughly where there were visible cuts from the shaver. We treated him, got him all his shots, did a proper groom after his hair grew back and eventually found a forever home for him with a lovely older couple in San Antonio.

They'd been looking for a dog for awhile, and were absolutely thrilled to connect with us. He's living his best life now, completely spoiled. They still check in with us from time to time to let us know how he's doing (and send a photo of him or two).

Careful that how dog rescues get started! Talk to Mrs. Sweeney before you even consider something like that -- talk to me too. LOL!!!!

A neighbor gave me this picture. Its of the Sanders family and Nancy ( second girl from the right) lived here till she went into a nursing home. Her dad above her bought it in the 1920’s.

Its now my fron yard.
I think your pot of gold is right under your nose!

If I had unlimited funds, I would 100% do it without regret. Rescue/Sanctuary. I don't have the $$, sadly, so we do what we can. Would love to tho.

careful ... :)

Are the sanders people who built the homstead? Home heating aside, assuming nothing mechaniclly fails it sounds like you've got all that figured out pretty well -- That might be a safe gamble as long as you've got a backup, for your backup in case the primary fails. I'd take that bet :)

Just got home last Sunday from 10 nights, cleaning and winterizing the 560 now.

Hard frost coming tonight the chill is in the air.

Axtel campground sunset

No winterization!!!! How was Rough River?

No it was built by the Funkies in the 1880’s. Its the first stick built home in the county.
