Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

If you;ever get a chance, look at the galloping ghost in Chicago. They have a pinball and video arcade. I’m a video gamer myself.

The sounds brought back so many good memories. Worth the trip.
We go to Chicago every 5 years or so. This aunt & uncle are back forth between Chicago & NC. That’s not far from their son.

Its been a few since I've been there -- I've found a couple of other arcades that are much smaller, but done better. The time it takes, and money, has got to be a huge time sink. I watch '8 bit guy' restore some of his games -- its definately a labor of love. Ghost has so many, I doubt they can ever 'keep up'

This place looks interesting.....https://pasttimesarcade.com/

Eleven years ago when we picked up our Camp Inn at the factory, Cary told us having our 560 Ultra would make us the “Rock Stars of the campground.” Definitely felt that way at times too.

If you want to achieve elite level rock star status you need to camp in a teardrop/raindrop with a Corgi. Archie was with us and everyone stopped to see us, campground or beach.

I'll be camping with a German Shepherd, so kinda like a Giant Corgi? :)

Monday, I had what I am convinced was a miraculous experience...its the only way I can describe it. I was stepping into a large trailer (Brinkley Model Z) when I realized that what I needed wasn't inside, so I started to back and finish what I was doing using another method.

I was on the top step. I turned around to go back down.

On the Brinkley, it uses a fold down step -- the steps are fixed on two side rails. Unlike a home, there is the no riser - and the back of the bottom step is not directly under the front of the step above it. This leaves a opening big enough to be a fall hazard. I have read of others having problems like this. My foot slipped between the two steps, and through the riser, or where the riser SHOULD be. My leg was through the steps at least partially.

The last thing I remember is falling, and time slowed down and I though this is what i feels like to break a leg by falling on an rv step. Everyhing happened both fast and slow at the same time. moments later I hear my phone skitter across the concrete. Then immedialtey the apple watch said it detectged a hard fall and offered to call 9/11 --- So if I 'blacked out' I was out for literally seconds.

Upon coming to my senses, I did a self-assment -- what hurts, what doesn't etc. The only pain was in my left arm, which I landed on. Guys --- I remember my foot going between the riser opening.

When I came to my senses, I was shaken....I didn't have a scratch on my body -- I landed 2 feet away from the camper face(ish) first possibly on my left side. No facial lacerations, no sign of impact. My knees and elbows weren't skinned, my forhead and side of my head didn't hurt --- I was 100% untouched except for the arm that I landed on.

I'd love to have video of this --- but I honestly can't think of any way I came out of this with only a sprained wrist. I'm swollen on the lower arm/wrist --- but other than that, I am 100% fine.

I make no excuses, I am a religious man, and put my faith in God - and believe Angels and Deamons exist. I honestly think I had an encounter with one...fortunately the good kind.

Thank God - I can think of absolutely no earthly way I cam out of this essentailly unscathed. Low strength in the arm, but that is starting to return already. Still tender. But -- I know of nothing more to say than Praise Be to Jesus Christ....

First you throw out your back, then you fall off an RV.....

Shall we start a GoFundMe and get you a full set of body armor? :P

In all seriousness, glad to hear you escaped that with a minor sprain!
I have to think that maybe spouting off here about poor quality -- some one has taken a contract out on me :)

Glad you are okay.

I've been thinking about this so much. I'll tell you, yes, the wrist hurts fairly bad. But every day it gets better and my grip strength is coming back. My watch strap is still on its longest setting -- so swelling is still present.

I think I need to take 2-3 days of good rest -- I've been 'hard charging' for a couple weeks witout a break - its time to slow down. I've got a couple big jobs next week, so its time to just pause.

The other night I fell asleep on the sofa, and when Susan woke me up I was incoherent. She ask me question that I answered wrong or just pecularily. She said I was talking in my sleep bout fixing the refrigerator, or something unrelated to anything happening. Apparently I was sleep-working. She asked me what my birthday was and I said "In the year of our Lord, 1967"

She siad, and I remember this, 'whats that cats name, or we're going to the hospital" --- I at least go that one right, however, in my defense, I usually get it wrong anyway :D

I can't believe how long its been since I was camping! Its been a SLOW year for me. less than a dozen nights :(

That almost sounds like a mild concussion....

probably - wife is an extremely seasoned RN - I'm getting better every day. about 50% pain is gone. I can now do some very light dexteriy things...putting any weight on the left arm is uncomfortable but 'tollerable' if I don't exceed limits.

What is strange about the whole thing and I still can't answer this. Why no bumps and bruises except the arm. I mean nothing, not even a minor scrape or rash.

The thing that is so annoying about this is that it was completely avoidable. Not only the stupid thing that I did, but what he me in a tizzy that nudged me into stupid
