Electric Brake Controller - 2014 Ram 1500

All the lights on the trailer are working perfectly on my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 through the factory-installed 7 pin harness. However, the factory electric brake module displays the following message in the EVIC: "Trailer Not Detected, Check Wiring". I took the truck in and they couldn't find anything wrong with the brake module. They want me to return with the trailer which I really want to avoid for many reasons. Any troubleshooting ideas?

Thanks!

Yah, you should probably email Camp Inn, Cary, for a more definite and timely response..

I believe he'll be able to pin-point (pun intended)which pin is not connecting correctly...

Call/email might be faster...

Good luck, my back up lights never really worked at all, and I just happen to have some more electrical stuff and they replaced the trailer 7-pin socket and then now work... so could be anything thing....

Frank is on the nose.Call Cary. He always answered our calls and iron out what few problems we've had lickity-split.

Love this Camp Inn family

Thanks Bear. Sorry about your charging issue. I tested the brake controller on the truck with a 12 volt tester connected to pin 4. I got no light when I applied the brakes and interestingly, there was a mechanical noise coming from the controller in the dash of the truck. I am certain the problem is with the truck. Going back to the dealer on Monday and hopefully, they will be installing a new brake controller.

The dealer has now had my truck for three days and is working with the Dodge engineers to diagnose my brake controller problem. Really??

Fourth day at the dealer, still no verdict on the brake controller. Good thing they gave me a rental!
