Hi Glenn!

Glad you & Opal are able to join us. I've added you to the list & will send you out the updated info.

Re: Titles

George,

Looking forward to meeting you at CampInn-CampOutt. I enjoy your vast knowledge of DO cooking and learning of new sites and recipes.
I'm thinking you should do some kind of demo while there. I have some questions on cooking with yeast to chat with you about that weekend. My breads never turn out well.

Re: Titles

Looking forward to chat with you. Be sure to yank my arm or thump me wwith a pot to get my attention. I tend to walk around a lot with my mouth dropped open taking in the sites LOL

I will try and answer any questions you have. If I don;t have an answer I will get you one.

Re: Titles

Betsey, I will be bringing "Chuck Truck" so I will have all my cooking stuff. You are probably as well equipped as I am. But if you would like me to help cook any of the CI stuff let me know.

Here is the info for anyone who would like to order a t-shirt and/or sweatshirt for the Camp-Inn Camp-Outt:

· Shirts/sweatshirts will be ash (light gray) in color (NOT black as in previous years)
· Small front pocket logo of the CICO logo
· Large back color graphic with a new really cool theme (remember the cool theme from last year????)

Cost (approximately):

(Unfortunately, there has been a price increase from the printer this year.)

Short Sleeve T-shirt: $13 (S-XL) $15 (XXL and up)

Long Sleeve T-shirt: $14 (S-XL) $16 (XXL and up)

Crew Neck Sweatshirt: $15 (S-XL) $17 (XXL and up)

*Hoodie Sweatshirt: $21.50 (S-XL) $23.50 (XXL and up)

*Zippered Hoodie: $26.50 (S-XL) $28.50 (XXL and up)

*Hoodies cannot be ordered larger than a 3X
Also, the hoods are large and may cover part of the graphic. Because of this,we have requested the graphic be moved down some.

If you want a t-shirt/sweatshirt, email me the following info:

What you want
Size you want
# of each

When I have received your order request, I will email you back to make sure I have the correct info.

I must have your order NO LATER THAN THIS MONDAY (September 13) in order to be sure to have the shirts by the Camp-Outt. Once I put in the initial order, I may be able to add to it but I cannot guarantee it.

Payment will be due to me (Betsey) at the Camp-Outt.

Let the fun begin!

That is just down the road from me. I go to Muddy Pond for my sorghum syrup, get off I40 exit 301.
Be sure to look us up, I'll have an American flag on a pole along with a small flag with my avitar. Look for DO's as well :D :D Oh yeah I'll have a Rain Drop on site.

We've gotten sorghum from Muddy Pond, as well as my husband's favorite cherry drops. We'll be sure to find you!

What do I do with sorghum????????? Let me seeeeee here,
first of all it is a syrup with a distinct flavor. It is commonly called sorgham mollasses. Wrong, mollasses is made as a by product of the making of cane sugar.
Sorghum is boiled down juice that has been squeezed out of the sorghum plant stalk. It is then boiled down (similar to maple syrup)to a syrup consistancy.
You can use it as syrup on pancakes and waffles or what ever.
I use it in recipes in place of brown sugar, in place of malt syrup etc. It takes a taste for it.

Muddy Pond is an actual Mennonite community in middle Tennessee. The name is a tribute to a family matriarch, and the pond is called just that Muddy Pond. I get my sorghum from them, because they make it fresh every September and October. It is really good when it comes from the spiqot still warm and you know it is fresh. This year in the 1st 2 weekends they have made and sold 2500 gallons of sorghum. Their process facillity is open to the public to see. Pretty interesting to an old steam jerk like me.
I will have some (for my waffles)at Camp-Outt.

I guess I haven't given it enough time then, because I just can't seem to develop that taste. I'll have to give it another try. ;)

I as a rule don't use it straight up. I use it in my recipes.

I'm sure it's fine that way. We were to a country fair several years ago and they were boiling sorghum and had all kinds of 'treats' to sample. Those were NOT good.

George,
I am the reason the 550 isn't availalbe. Renting it for a week. First going to Black Hills, then to Camp Inn gathering.

I will be traveling from Black Hills caching vacation. Hmmm, going to plan to get caches in Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Just imagine, ending a great trip with 7 cache types in 1 day. You would be a caching Goddess to create those 7 types.
Jean

Cary,

With the recent cold spell, what type of heating is in the 550 and 560?
Don't let Marty know, if the 550 has limited heat, the geodog will keep part of me warm, or should properly be stated I keep the dog warm.

Do I need to bring a small electrical heater? Or plan on baking rocks and placing them inside the tear at bedtime?

Jean

Jean,

You will be in good shape, the 550 you are using has the furnace option so you will be plenty warm. George on the other hand will have the 560 which does not. He will probably want to use a small electric heater. I should have one here to send with him.
