Wagner 12 inch skillet

There is an estate sale across the street. They have 12 inch ? wagner skillet for $20. Worth the price? I think it has 1080 on the back.

Hi Joan. I'd say it would be worth the money, as long as it doesn't appear to be cracked anywhere or warped. It should sit nice and flat on a table without wobbling. And offer them $14... ;)
 
Well as they say, you snooze, you lose. Someone else bought it. That's ok, I already have the same size skillet but there are no markings on the bottom. Ken, thanks for the feedback.
 
To check for a crack, hook or loop and hang pan from handle.

Take something metalick or hard plastic and give the pan a gentle crisp whack. The pan should have a resonance or"ring" to it. A cracked pan will not "ring"
 
In the past, I have walked away from things to "think about it" and when I returned they were gone. One way to look at it is to say it wasn't meant for you and the one you really want is waiting down the line. Sounds nice in a sudo zen sort of way...but it doesn't help the fact I let something really cool go.

So now if I see something I've been looking for and it's withing my price range, I get it.

I never was very big on comparative philosophies.
