WA – Ocean City SP (Kite Festival, Long Beach)

Ocean City State Park I was in Loop #2, late booking.

Ocean City SP was crowded but big, the closer to the beach, over sand dunes the more compact it became.
I got my Inlets confused and thought the drive from Ocean City to Long Beach was just about 20 min or so… apx 2+ hrs if I remember, closer to 3hrs. There are a lot of campgrounds around Long Beach, including Cape Disappoint State Park Cape Disappointment.

Is the Kite Festival an annual event about that time in August? I would try to plan for it on my trip this coming year.

Thanks to both, it's really a pretty sight. A little crowded trying to get around but not too bad.
The only irritating is that the places I checked demanded a 4-day RSVP. We did the Ocean Park (different from the Ocean City SP) that year, got a 2-night stay, called back the next year and they wouldn't book it. Demanded a 4-night min... guessing if you wait closer to the last minute they will open up whatever spaces that haven't been taken as initially they wouldn't assign a spot. You're sort of a filler, not reliable and guessing would probably 'Bump" you if someone came in after you RSVP for a 4-nite stay..
