The "Dew Drop Inn" Chronicles

Sweet, it would take a few "Shots" to try taking that to Alaskee... but?? What the heck... Why not...

Just have to been in fair weather, right? or wear goggles..

ROGs won't need goggles in the PNW this week Frank, sunglasses are more like it.

What with all the great weather on the peninsula this week the teardrops are beginning to roll, saw this very stylish woodie at the Co-op today...

... let the camping season begin!

It's with mixed emotions ( very happy and a little sad too ) that we announce that The Dew Drop Inn has new owners. Nancy and Wade drove up from Eugene OR today to pick her up. Really nice folks, we are so happy for them and so glad Dewey will be in good hands. Who knows they may attend the Northwest Roundup with Dewey in August. Good luck and good traveling Nancy and Wade.

...or is that the Fly Fisher Gals... I believe they all tour around in those, Scotties??

To follow up on Michael's post above.
We are appreciative of Michael and Susan's hospitality and graciousness in our meeting. We met in their neighborhood, Old Fort Townsend. We got the 4 hour intro tour. Then we spent our first night right there. Sweet little park with paths, water, and amenities.
It was clear that pride of ownership matters to M & S. The TD was nicely prepared. There was no cold beer in the fridge, but maybe next time...
We drove home and appreciated the handling, and the looks. It only took a couple of days to get it into the garage (had to sell the Miata first) and now it sits, clean, shiny, and regal.
Our first trip is coming soon, to the redwoods in Northern California.
So thanks Michael and Susan. It was a pleasure meeting you and now sharing our common history with Dewey.

I grew up in Eugene and I am happy to know there is a Camp-inn there now (there might have been others, but not sure). Congrats and we hope to see you at the round-up!

It warms our hearts thinking that Princess Dewey ( "and now she sits clean shiny and regal" ) is in such loving hands Nancy and Wade.

We thought to put a few good beers in the fridge but so many folks abstain now days we didn't want to risk an awkward moment, but heck we'd love to share a cold one with you folks sometime.

Fort Townsend SP was a great setting for your orientation, Susan and I enjoyed the day very much, you folks made it easy and the weather, oh my, to die for!

photo24.jpg

Even though we had many wonderful adventures with Princess Dewey and she most certainly did put up a valiant effort, in the end we decided that a tad more comfort was needed for off season camping and our snow birding travels.

So what do you think about that, a whole bunch of happy campers, Nancy and Wade with Princess Dewey and Susan and your's truly with Dizzy!

Camp on! ( thanks Sue for that awesome mantra )

Michael

Heheh, nice...

and the beer in the frige... I know, I hit 50-50 with the Champagne... one does, the other doesn't but it's the idea that counts eh?
A little starter kit...
Cast Iron pan
Campfire Starter
Bubbly to sit back and enjoy it all...
Fun...

If I am on life support, unplug me, then plug me back in and see if that works!

You thought of everything Frank, champagne yet, last of the romantics for sure, remind me again why you're still single...you'd be quite the catch for one of those fly fishing gals.

Michael

Heheh, yah...
I try, I try and in the immortal words of Woody Allen,
"I wouldn't date anyone that wanted to go out with me..." heheh, or something like that..

Fish Gals, they just walk right on through your campsite without saying a word...

Haven't had a good experience with the 2-3 times encountered..
Maybe next life .... Taaaa-Quila time..

Michael

Heheh, the Apocalypse is coming...
