Charlie,
I looked at the 1/2" channel at Home Depot. The one I saw had an outside measure of 1/2" The interior was something less. Did you find that when you started? If so did you muscle it in, or did you find a board that fit. Just wondering. I could probably get the board routed, if need be.
Thanks Steve

Hi Steve,
I have a planer in my shop that I used to make the boards fit, but a router or even a tablesaw will do the edges enough so that the dividers will go in. If you know a carpenter, he probably would have a planer or would know where you could get it done.

See, now I always enjoy a great project done well. I somehow missed the learning curve and have zero such skills. I have even fewer tools, other than my left-handed spanner. Good job Charlie!

Charlie - I got the package the night before we flew out of state. Didn't get a chance to fit them before we left, so we'll have to wait until we get back.

Charlie,

You've been patiently waiting to see how your dividers worked out for my rig. I finally got a chance to put them in - worked and fit perfectly.
I took some pictures of the installation that you are welcome to use with your instructions.
I really like that you can slide the dividers out to clean the cupboard or to get at the battery compartment. Great job on the C-channel.

I would only add one thing to your instructions: After marking the center divider, you should probably move it 1/16" towards the back of the cupboard to allow room for the two small dividers to slide in and out easily.

Also, the center divider could have been another 1/8" longer and would still have fit easily (I know you had to err on the short side without being able to measure the piece yourself).
I may replace the countersunk screws with pan head to take out some of the slack.

Great job on the height of the dividers - any higher and they wouldn't come out of the track.

I think you should patent the system and sell it to Camp-Inn for millions! :)
Seriously, I think this should be a standard option available for every trailer. There's already a Nicole Guard, perhaps this could be call the Charlie Rack.

Fit all the pieces in, and mark the track for the center divider.

Screw in the C-channel for the center divider.
If you look closely, you can see that I moved it 1/16" back from the pencil line.

Slide the center divider into place.

Slide in the two small dividers and measure across front and back to make sure they are square and parallel.

Mark the track for the two small dividers.

Remove all three dividers and screw in the two small pieces of C-channel.

Slide the 3 dividers back into place and you're good to go. (Great job, Charlie - just send me 10% of your first million).

Thanks Evan! I was wondering if they worked okay. They are such a help keeping things organized. I'm glad you liked them.

aah.. Evan if anybody's getting a cut it's me...I told him what I wanted and so he made it. lol

What's a Nicole guard?

HI,
What department in Home Depot did you find the c channel?? I just spent an hour hoofing the entire store. I found L, O and square shapes. I got a lot of funny looks from everyone I asked.
Tim says plan B is to make wood cleats to hold dividers in place. Hope to work on ours later this weekend. I figured out what arrangement of dividers would work best for us and am now ready to have them made!

Hi Eileen,
I believe I got the c-channel in the hardware department in Home Depot. Your local hardware store should have it also. The first time I did the dividers I used 1/2 x 1/2 inch aluminum angle iron. The c-channel works much better though. If you can't find it, I could cut some pieces for you and send them out to you.

To be quite honest, I would like to hear as well as I have no clue. When I asked Craig & Nichole, neither of them had any idea, either. Although we all thought of something it might be in reference to & figured it probably came from Marty... ;)

The real question then is...is it's purpose to guard Nichole or to guard others from Nichole???

A Nichole Guard (as explained by Marty to all new 560 owners) is the removeable guard or divider that keeps small children from falling out of the top bunk. Does this help, Betsey?
