Bumper Stainless Steel Bumper?

Folks,
I am trying to pick out options. What about the Stainless Steel Bumper? What is good about it? What is bad about it?
Do I need it? Should I get it?
What say all?
Thanks,
Ken in Louisville.

It's sturdy, could save the aluminum body should the unthinkable happen backing into a dark campsite.

Well can you imagine a car or any RV without a bumper? Look at all the big rigs - bumpers are there in case you get bumped! Protect your investment!

It is a pretty popular option & is easier to fix/replace the bumper than the back end of the teardrop.

That said, ours doesn't have a bumper. Of course, it wasn't an option when ours was built. However, if it had a bumper, it might not have gotten a dent in the roll pan several years ago (no, we didn't do it). Craig removed the dent a few years later when doing some work on the teardrop.

We are wishing we had added it. Nothing bad has happened, but I am sure there will be a day eventually. I think it is worth the money, myself. Just my 2 cents.

I have it and like it... you an attach/anchor things to it also...
Glad I got it...

You can stand on the bumper to wash your teardrop. :)

It was actually the very last option that we added to our build. By that time, we had so much money into it what was a few hundred more? Plus, all it takes is one bump to have paid for itself.

That was an add-on for us, and one that I'd recommend. It's strong, good-looking, and should work to help avoid more costly repairs in a minor accident.

Thanks all for your comments about stainless steel bumpers. Your points are valid. So I guess my wife Kathy wins! We will add them to the order!
