Hi my name is Jim Clausen and I have a homebuilt TD.

I been impressed with the people and campers of Camp Inn since the 3rd CICO in 2006. Craig and Cary have put together a great camper and business.

I enjoy camping most weekends, the last weekend with Betsey and Craig, and can't even begin to count the nights I have slept in a TD. I dream of a very extended time on the road in a TD.

I may have a little to offer this forum and I am sure I will learn from others. The biggest challenge I find in TD ownership is maintaing the simplicity. Unbury me from the 'stuff' so I can be on the road in a moment.

Hi Jim,
Welcome and I agree---Simplicity is great! I agree with the rest of what you said also! I look forward to your contributions to the forum!

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum. We were at the CICO last month, our 1st TD gathering, and it was great to meet everyone and see the variety of setups people have. Simplifying is an art form, and we are definitely still learning how to keep it as simple as possible.

Getting "simple" is the oughest for me as well. My answer has been to get bigger, and frankly I am not happy with it. Right now my passion for camp cooking and the spread of the number of people I am cooking with and for has really made my packed aresenal quite large and extreme. Those of you at CICO saw my set up, but I don't think many saw all my iron. Judgeing from the chatter on some of my other sites castironitis is very addictive. When the order goes in to play for my CI, some very tough decisions are going to have to be made.

George, maybe ci can come up with an inovative design to carry your cast iron kit.

By the way, once I get my ci and you get your ci, I would like you to post your travel plans. Based on your contributions regarding CI meals, you would be a great person to camp with! :)
