Question about Show & Tell of your Rain or Tear

Has anyone felt that taking the time to show and tell to people has paid off financially for you? We expect and WANT to show and tell, but I'm wondering how many people actually follow through and buy one after the many times you show it?

We showed our 550 two times and it paid off the first time. The second time was two months ago and we dont know yet. :)

Well, I purchsed due to show and tell from factory and two private owned teardrops.

Expect lots of curiosity verus those who are intent of purchasing.

Yes, I expect more "lookers" than "takers" but it's sure nice to know that people DO buy. It would be nice to be a walking talking Camp Inn advertisement!

I was followed through Arches National Park by a mini van of very nice folks from France who didn't speak very much English. Sometimes they were obvious about taking pictures and other times were trying to be indiscreet. I finally handed them a brochure and they sat down and stared at it for about a half hour, just shocked! One guy kept calling people over to look. I knew the chances were slim they would be buying and we were on a short time line, so I thought a brochure was best. Most of the folks we have run across so far have just been been curious.

Like most people, we bought once we saw (it was the nail in the coffin for Mick...so to speak), but we had also been researching things, talking to Cary, etc. first. My experience has been pretty short so far. We have had one person look and buy (but, she has been a forum member longer than I have). I think the folks who are sent to you by Cary or through the forum are the ones most likely to sign a contract.

Our purchase paid off for the only 550 I know of in Mid.TN besides ours. I never even knew about the pay off to the people who showed us their camper until Cary mentioned it. I called them and they got the check from Camp-Inn. Though I have never done it yet, I plan to staple the paper to give us credit to the handouts along with my personal business card. This would allow them to contact me again if they need to. I may add this website to the card. That could help. People think small means cheap.
I tell people the campers sale from $7500 to $27500 and every price in between.
Question to all....How do you answer the question of cost?
Steve

Well, I have two teardrops - a homebuilt we got for $2,400 and our $24,000 Camp-Inn. When we camp with my parents (they get the homebuilt) you can see exactly what the extra money gets you - worth every penny.

When people ask me "Why would you want to pay that much for something so small when for the same money you can get a big RV?"

1. We already have a big RV (we live in it waiting on the big house to sell and love it - it's all we need - for the time being.

2. And this is the main answer I give: It's not about the money - it's about the lifestyle and IT'S WHAT WE WANT TO DO. WE LIKE CAMPING - NOT RVing! Big difference. We've finally got time and money to spend on US instead of 4 kids and we're doing it!

(We treat our RV like a house, not an RV, so it's paid for, cheaper than an apt. and the campground we sit stationary in is awesome - pristine, 3 pools, hot tubs, petal cars, lazer tag, video games, blah, blah, blah, lots for the grandkids to do when they come and all the electricity we can use for a small monthly fee and NO PROPERTY TAXES. We've raised our kids and now is OUR time - there are cabins, motel rooms, tent sites and RV sites here in this campground. If they want to come see us, they have choices and soon, we'll have the Raindrop for US and we'll give them the RV when they come. (We have twins that have 3 kids each) and when 1 daughter and family comes they can watch us head to the Raindrop and they'll continue to think we're crazy (I love it!) Not caring what people think is SO liberating...

we looked at the CI website then called Cary. He gave us a person to call in our area that had a 550. They had a 550 ultra with all the options and invited us to their house. They even pulled it out of the garage and demonstrated the features for us. We kept thinking about it and decided to go to Necedah and see the factory. That was the kicker we were so impressed with Cary and the operation we came home and checked out a few things (storage insurance..etc.) and placed an order.
We are still waiting for notification that our build is underway....Can't wait.

Dave

I am quite sure of what I want, but, yeah that word but.....

My wife thinks I am looking at too small. I am thinking perfect.
I will be on the waiting list one of these days. Keeping the fingers crossed.
