Moving To Wisconsin

GSI has raw aluminum (silvery) and hard anodized (greyish) aluminum dutch ovens. I shopped them for a while, but decided I wasn’t using my Lodge #12 enough to justify purchase.

Search results for: 'Dutch'

These days I use a Lodge 3.2 qt. Combo Cooker at home all the time for sourdough and yeast breads, and a Lodge cast iron griddle travels on the CI stove. Mmmmm.

hmmm… massive thread hijack! Sorry to see you leave the PNW Tour 931! Best of luck in the move!

Whats frightening to me, is I've seen it! Last gathering we went too, some one had one that looked exactly like a lodge except it was silvery and not black, and weighted about 2/3 less.

I ask them where they got it, they couldn't remember (Joke...get it?!)
What are you saying???? Aluminum is linked to memory loss?...I worked 20 years in the aluminum die cast industry....or was it 23 years..or...

As the original poster I would like to say I’ve never minded my threads to be hi-jacked. To me it’s what makes forums fun. You never know where they will take you.

Speaking of aluminum does anyone else wear an aluminum hat to prevent aliens from sucking your brains out? It’s a proven fact living in an aluminum Camp-Inn makes a person smarter. Much smarter than buying this fiberglass Class A. ;)

I’m 72 and dated a woman that was 65. I called her jail bait.

i close two weeks from today.

Good luck with the home closing. You will get here just in time to enjoy the Birkie in Cable WI on Feb 23 thru Feb 27. Its about an hour away from you.

Welcome to Wisconsin ...the land of the Ol' Fashions, Supper Clubs, Friday Fish Frys, Saturday Prime Rib, Deep Fried Cheese Curds, ...and of course Camp Inn.

As a kid I was entranced by iceboating. We were in Madison, maybe it was Lake Mendota. 90mph in something people built in their garage! On wind power! Wow! (There were pro builds too)

Most peoples migh tant dose were mis-spells.

Welcome to Wisconsin...not far from the U.P. of Michigan. That spelling may just be a hybrid "Yooper" dialect..or maybe just Wisconsinese.....don't worry you'll catch on quickly.

When on the eastern part of the state by Sheboygan the put Bratwurst on a barbeque grill and call it "frying out"..hmm. When you take a drink from a water fountain...you are drinking from a "bubbler". The traffic lights are known as "stop-n-go" lights..."oopes" I forgot to tell you that after a couple of Friday Fish fry's and a few Brand Ol' Fashions....it gets worse...

You make me laugh! Back in about 1998 My life was still quite sheltered. I had traveled no farther than a couple hours north, west, or east of my home town --- with the exception of possibly going to Florida, New Orleans, and Houston. My family just does not travel. To this day, my parents have probably never been more than 2-3 hour drive from where they were born. Probably Lansing Michigan and Indianapolis for doctors appointments.

One of my best friends talked me into taking a cross country motorcycle trip from northern Indiana to the badlands. Making the typical stops. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, and of course Sturgis. We left early in the morning and basically rode though until we made it to supper time in south central Minneisota.

My chuckle comes from stopping at this wonderful little pizza joint. I am remembering "white cloud" -- but there is no white cloud my my travel map. But i remember it was off the highway, in some small little town off the hightway somewhere in south central minnesota.

Being a llittle road weary, I remember vividly having this blond hair, blue eyed high school cheerleader type ask "ya, What can I getchya?" I lost all composure. I honestly had no idea that 'the accent' was a real thing. I thought everyone talked like us except maybe in the hills of kentukcy y'all. What did I know.
