Morning Cup Of Coffee And Weather

How do you spell it? PBBBTH!!!! :p

I was going to go out as well, just for 2 nights - but then I looked at the forecast. Ay Carumba! It usually doesn't get this cold this fast here! Late last week, we got 2 nights in the mid-teens. This isn't common. Add to the fact, I'm freezing while driving to Church and the outside temperature is still 30 outside.

When I start to feel sorry for myself, I find a YouTube channel that shows life in Yakutsk, Russia. -97 degrees Fahrenheit is not unheard of there. It's fascinating to see how these people live. I have to admit, spending 3 days and 2 nights there might be an interesting experience. Just once.

Talking about winterization @Tour 931 , after 2 nights in the teens and daytime highs below freezing. I got an 'emergency' call from someone wanting winterization. He said the water wouldn't run and his pump stopped working. Uhoh. Fortuantely, the CIs system is a lot more simple than full size. I have to admit, pouring a gallon into the tank and running it until it turns pink in the sprayer, sink, and shower-outlet is a lot eaiser than running around trying to find low point drains and winterization/suction tubes.

Hey, don't forget - that furnace!

I didn't get turkey this year. We went to family, and they had like a 8 pound bird, and being 'last in line' the only thing left was some small remnant pieces. Ham was good, as was everything else. So, I am definatley not complaining. Lamenting perhaps that thanksgiving meal is my favorite combination. The cranberry, turkey, potatoes, stuffing -- its all 100% comfort food. Sadly, its also not exactly wasteline friendly. After this last week, its back on the 'diet' until Christmas Day...then back on the diet again. I've got to drop a few pounds.

I'm going to see about picking up a turkey this week when I go shopping next. I won't be able to enjoy the other starcy things, but at least I can have turkey. May have to try this -- I wouldn't call it a brine as much as I would a moisture extraction from the skin - I bet that is pretty crispy!!!
I finally winterized mine today so I didn’t have to build a fire in the shop.

I am helping a friend in Texas -- and I have to say I'm tolering this better than I would be at home :) 65 and sunny today, with texas winds.

Hangin' in the Dallas area (about 20 miles away) and I have to say -- this doesn't suck! But I also understand it was almost 100 degrees a monht ago...I think its been said before, but "Houstin, we have a probelm!" -- I don't know which is worse. What Tour931 is reporting or 100 degrees in November!!!!

Starry night here in Wisconsin away from all the city lights. Zoom in and see thousands more.

Never get that here. We are a block of Main St and half mile away from the mall & the area with the big box stores. The parking lot lights nearby make it like look dusk all the time. Tall trees nearby don’t help either. One of the things I like about camping is seeing the night sky.

The best place I know to camp is my own back yard Anywhere I go has more people too.

Looks cozy....too bad it looks like the Bears have it sewn up this year....been quite a drought for them though, so can't complain too loudly.

Heading home soon -- I can't wait. Looking like the trip will begin Thursday morning. Its going to be a rough re-entry. I've been in Texas for about a week and a half, and while it cracked freezing once while I have been here, its ben mostly 60's and 70's. At home, well, not quite that. I'll be arriving to about 20 degrees.

At least I have my heated dewalt jacket --- which I have to say, is pretty darned nice. Push a button, and it warms up your chest and arms nicely. Just enough...the battery life isn't super awesome, but its still a couple of hours of warm. And I'm happy to have it!!!

I made it home this afternoon. I got to spend almost 2 weeks in the Dallas Area, no time for fun stuff sadly. But, I did have some of the best texmex I've ever had :)

This includes trips to at least 4 new bucc-ees. 3 in the Dallas area, and 1 in Missouri. I don't understand the crazy amount of money people spend there -- I mean I see shopping carts FULL of 'stuff' but I guess if that is your thing. I like the BBQ, it's not the best I've ever had, but it is good...

I also got to visit Wally's --- which is an up-and-comer. Currently, there are 2 locations. Northwest of Bloomington, Illinois (Pontiac), and another just west of St. Louis, with a 3'rd coming soon here to Central Indiana -- just northeast of Indianapolis. There are rumors of a Bucees too coming to the south side. I actually think I know exactly where they are looking at -- at one time it was supposed to be a Cabellas before the destruction when Bass Pro bought them.

Wally's is the "Home of the Great American Road trip" -- their mascot is a bear, and a classic Winnebago. The formula is the exactly the same as Bucc-ees - including BBQ, Gourmet Popcorn, and all the swag you can imagine. I stopped at the one in Fenton Missouri, and it was not bad! The 'Q was similar to Bucc-ee's, so I call it a win.

Anyway, I'm glad to be home. Of course, going from a daytime high of 75 to a daytime high of 30 is making me question my life choices...but you've got to take the good with the bad!

They're building a Bucc-ee's about 10 miles from our AZ home. Kinda anxious for it to open and see what all the fuss is about.

For awhile we thought a Buc-ees would be built in my county in SC. The state and company could not work out how and who was going to pay to upgrade exit 21 on I-85 to handle the traffic increase, so it died.
