We're going to get a taste of that next week -- I much prefer the 60's we were playing with a couple weeks ago :) We're at 28, but it is a biting 28. Right to the bones cold. I had to run to the store and if I didn't look at the thermometer I would have guessed closer to 15 or 20.

I'm done with it!

I did start booking camp sites for the summer yeterday! I got my first 7 trips planned starting in mid April. The first week of April here can be icy. I always keep my outdoor life on hold until "March Madness" comes and goes.
 
I'm in the Dallas area...it got down to 17 last night. I'm at a camping resort with an attached school, and its safe to say that no one sleep well last night excpse those in the "cabins" The number of frozen water lines was also quite impressive!

It will be in the 50's over the weekend, then up into the 70's next week...so HOPEFULLY, it's much more tolerable.

It has very little impact on any of us as teardrop owners, but I tell ya --- the NRVTA academy is amazing. I'm just in the fundamentals class and I've learned more than I thought I would. Air Conditioning and refrigeration is interesting. But, if you want to understand 'big' RV systems....this is an amazing class. If you've ever seen the "Tech Tip Tuesday" videos on youtube --- Todd --- big guy with the beard has been the primary instructor.

My furnace went out doc. It’s going to have to wait for warmer weather.

Today is promising to be another warm day. For the last three days it’s hit 50 or come close to it. The snow is melting fast and it’s getting muddy. Then by Sunday it will be back to single digits.
 
I was watching Ryan Hall (Ryan Hall Y'all on youtube), and it looks like spring chaos is here :)

Last week at this time, it was around 17 degrees -- yesterday it was around 80. Today around 70, and then next week it's down in the 60s again. I suppose this is a small taste of why my brother likes calling from Florida asking me what the temperatures are like up there :)

The RV park I am at was FULL of frozen pipes and the sound of propane heaers. I'm curious how much propane they sold...

This week has been learning more than I care too about absorption heaters. Not a bad class, the content was all there but the teaching style of the instructor has been unimpressive. Talking 100 miles per hour with gusts to 125, a little dismissive of questions, and gruff. Personally, I think that slowing down a little and going into a little more theory of operation other than focusing on 'steps to diagnose' would have been helpful.

But, I diagnosed and fixed 8 fridges yesterday that looked like Wizard of Oz Monkeys worked on them. Only 1 embarrassment when I missed a ground connection.

The labs are being given a refrigerator that is completely miswired provided, you need to correct the wiring, then to move on and find out what components have failures (broken snap disks, thermal fuses, blown fuses, damaged wire, poorly crimped connectors etc) Fun. Next week its on to Air Conditioners.

I still want to put a soft start on the AC in Serenity. I know it will work, I just am not sure WHERE to put it. In one of the labs, we started a 13.5 BTU roof AC and the inrush was only 3 amps compared to 10 times or more without the softstart. Very impressive.

I wish I knew half that stuff. One of the two furnaces on my class A went out. I suspect it’s a loose or chewed wire.

There was some discussion about the soft start a while back, but it didn't sound like it was ever successfully installed in a CI. That would be great if you can figure it out and allow the small generators to power the AC without barking.

We can talk about this when I get back...but these are pretty simple...

For campinns, this is not terribly helpful...but this is a good training program if you are starting a "aptitude" but not a lot of knowledge...

Yah, I think I started it :D I was totally impressed how low the start up s...3amps....wow!!!
 
I want to pull the hands off mine completely, and set my internal time to "now"

There's way too much stress in the world today driven by that infernal device.
