Land of Enchantment or Bust!

Camp on safe travels! We just got back from a two and a half week vacation. Just looked at my Spot locator and the travels now span the Atlantic to the Pacific!
You didn’t miss too much at the Big Texan it is kind of a tourist trap… interesting though and an okay steak I’d give it a 5 or 6 on a 10 scale.

Heh, I've passed by that place and passed on the challenge...once upon a time- meat coma!

...but at my age it would be three days before I could poop again...

Parade in Red River, NM. We are cheating here and have a cabin. Couldn’t get a campsite at any place with showers. Tall Pine Resort was willing to let us park the camper here so it’s hooked up to our solar panel down at the office. We are in a 90 year old cabin. We wanted to come here for a concert at the Motherlode Saloon. Tomorrow night we will see Ray Wylie Hubbard there.

Last day in New Mexico. Went over see Taos Pueblo which was really interesting to see with this being a Pueblo community with people still living in it. Tomorrow, we begin the slog home. Camping at Foss State Park in Oklahoma tomorrow night.

That is a beautiful sign. Was that metal?

And look at that cute little trailer. Do you sleep in that?
Yes it was a metal sign. We stopped for gas in Borger, TX up in the panhandle and I couldn’t get started pumping gas. Three different guys came up to me asking about it. Mary Ellen is flinging brochures at them as we can get gas & go to the bathroom. The one guy didn’t believe when I told him we had owned for 10 years.

The gas pump conversations are a real thing! Somewhere in a southern Missouri gas station a man yelled across 3 bays of pumps that my teardrop was the dangdest cutest looking trailer he ever seen! And you know the rest. It's fun!

We have been flagged down a couple of times while on the road with a request to see our trailer. For us, the 550 seemed to draw more attention than our current 560.

We have had ours for about 15 years and it used to be we could not stop without having to give a tour and answer questions. I think because teardrops are more common we still get questions but not as near as many as we used to get. It seems there are always other teardrops in camp grounds where 15 years ago we were the only one.

That has been our experience too. Been a while since I got hit up like that at a gas station. The first was in his work and when he stopped I wondered if I had done something wrong pulling around to the pump.
