ipod, iphone or ipad app for loging camping outing

Hi all,
I was looking in itunes to day to see if there is an app for logging camping trips. I found one called RV Companion. It might work ok with some limitations - I was wondering if anyone else uses an App that they like for their camping trips.
Thanks,
Pat

Evan,
the RV companion basic is free but you can only enter 3 campgrounds then to do more you have to buy the upgrade for $9.99. (pretty cheap but high price for an app) I have not gotten the upgrade yet. I want to look at HanDbase and see if I could build an application with more of the fields I would like - for starters there are not date fields like: on the road, 1st night, last night or something like that.
I build databases so this might be a fun winter project if time allows. I will update you when I know more.
We are off to Camp-Inn for a check up this Thursday and a few days camping then unless the winter is particularly nice Suite Retreat will be garaged till spring.

Pat,

I have been using HanDBase since Palm III days, more than 10 years. It now sits on my iPod Touch and holds a couple of dozen small databases, including
a couple that contain teardrop and camping information.

We have only been on ten TD trips since last April when we picked up #357 but keeping data is in my blood so those trips are well documented, both in HanDBase databases and in a handwritten log book.

You should have no trouble building (and modifying after using it) a database in HanDBase to keep track of whatever interests you. It does have a desktop version but I do all of my development and data entry right on my iPod Touch.

HanDBase has a small relational capability that sets it apart from other iPod/iPhone/iPad record-keeping apps, which you might find interesting if you have a background in db design.

Evan,
yes I use access. I could build a nice app on my laptop but I might not always take my laptop camping so was thinking I would like the app on my ipod touch - still putzing with the idea.

Don,
I have not had time to look at HanDBase yet - but plan on doing that. I did get the RV Companion app because they had it for $4.99 (not too bad). It has a to do function, Camps, trip log and RV infor - lic etc.
Its ok but I know I could do much better with MS Access so it may just be a winter project when I am longing to camp.
