Hurricane Florence

Better safe than sorry, Jim and Sue.

It now looks like our area is not going to be as severe, but our Carolinas are facing the brunt of this.

Glad we changed our plans. Now camped in Newport ME. on a small Lake. Spent the day at Acadia NP, Just gorgeous there, 70*, clear blue skies. Life is good!

Hope the predictions are correct. Here in Anderson, SC it looks like we will just be out of the way of the really nasty stuff with Florence. Winds will still be 20-30 mph and with 3-5 inches of rain. 50 miles east or so of us will get much more of the heavy winds and rains. We would hook up and move out of the way of the storm, but it looks like schools here won't be closed Monday and we would have to get some to take of our cats. In two weeks, we will be hitting the road for a weekend trip. The place we have reservations should be in an area that doesn't get massive damage. One of the state parks near Myrtle Beach just reopened in July after repairs from last year's hurricane.
 
Looks like we are going to get lucky and get hardly anything. It was windy today but not dangerous. So far just a very little rain. I think by tomorrow we will won't get but about an inch or so. Not complaining and hopefully the areas of NC and SC that did get hit recover quickly.
