Hello from MN

We are picking up our tear: Suite Retreat April 6th 2009 550 Classic. We have been tent campers 50+ years so time to get off the ground but still keep it simple. Looking forward to lots of camping this summer.

Welcome to the forum! We are new to the 'teardrop' camping ourselves, not quite 1 year with ours. There are a lot of friendly, helpful people here to answer questions and share ideas for setup, etc. I'm sure you've got a lot to offer with all that camping experience, too.

Welcome, Pat!

I hope you will be able to join us this fall for the 7th Camp-Inn Camp-Outt. It was great you were able to come last year. We would love to have you join us with your new teardrop this year.

Hi Betsey,
The camp out last year made the decision solid to buy our tear from Camp-Inn. We are looking forward to picking it up April 6th. As to the Camp-Out we will have to see what our commitments will be in September. We work for a private school which makes September a very busy time for us -- but maybe!

Jerry and Tina,
yes I have checked out Tear Jerkers - I get a little confused about all the sites I have visited but the information has been great.

Welcome Pat,
We are new as well. We will be getting our TD about a month after you. I've learned a lot from this forum and hope you do as well.
Happy camping!

Welcome to the forum, Pat! We are probably the most recent proud owners on here...3 weeks old today!! We've already had our McNugit out twice, and as we learn the ropes of teardropping, we are loving it more and more. If you enjoy yours half as much as we do ours, you'll be a very happy camper!!!

Hi all,
We picked up our tear yesterday. It was raining all day - not the bright picture perfect day I had dreamed about but all went well. Cary spent nearly 4 hours teaching us all the in's and out's and I think most of it sank in pretty well. Forgot a few things but took a look at the Owner's Manual and found the answers. We had hoped for pictures with Cary, Craig and their crew but in the end with the rain and weary from a long day - we forgot pictures. When we arrived home our new tear was wet and dirty and it was dark and cold -- so pictures will wait for another day. There were a few issues with our hitch - it was too high and not grounded correctly so we have to get that fixed. We got some water in the cabin so I sent an email off to Cary and he explained what caused it and so we are settled with that issue. A neighbor came to see it and I spent the next hour or so showing it off -- it was a good way to review some of Cary's lessons on how things work. Now we are pulling out our tent camping supplies and testing where things will fit and what we need and do not need. I have not used the right key the first time for any lock yet - got get that in the "little gray cells".

One funny thing was we had taken the mattress out and were exploring the storage area in the floor of the cabin and putting a few thing in that we would not commonly use - but great to have available. I left the lid off and then we were putting the mattress back in and I backed in the cabin - sat on the floor and found myself in the hole -- we were laughing so hard it took a while to be extricated. Tent camping has always had some of these unusual experiences so we felt right at home with our tear. This is a very busy time for school so won't be able to get out camping for a couple of weeks but in the mean time we will enjoy packing it and just standing back and admiring the wonderful craftmenship and ingenuity of the Camp-Inn folks.

Thank you to each and every person who had a hand in creating our "Suite Retreat".

Pat,

Some of us are getting together down in Preston the weekend of April 16-18. We are camping at Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. If you feel up for a Spring camping trip, we would love to have you join us! Most of us aren't reserving a spot...we are just showing up. It is opening weekend for MN state parks & there are plenty of spots available. We are hoping for some of that beautiful weather (with temps in the 70s) like we had last week.

Hope to see you out camping soon!

Betsey
