Hello everyone! We're looking for campers who tow with a Jeep Gladiator.

We just replaced our subaru outback with a Toyota RAV4 PHEV and the fuel economy is so much better!
Sweet!

"Last but not least, there is the new 2025 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, the most powerful version of this SUV yet, with over 300 horsepower from its advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. This PHEV model differs from the previous hybrid trims, which can't be externally charged to add all-electric range. However, in exchange for this slight change to your routine, the Toyota RAV4 PHEV model offers incredible fuel economy of up to 94 MPGe2 and an all-electric range of 42 miles.3 Available in two trims – the SE and XSE – with standard AWD, its Toyota RAV4 PHEV towing capacity is 2,500 pounds1 in both."

The folks who have done so much off road accessorizing for Subaru Outbacks over the years

Have fun!

PS: I'm so excited for you!
And looking forward to your camping reports.

I think Toyota is the way to go on anything hybrid, just because they have been at it so long, and people like to mod them to do more outside...

And reddit has a sub here:

Nice review. Thanks for sharing.
No problem!
I drool at the newest 4x4s but cant bring myself to spend more on any vehicle that cost more than first house...

I was at the REI store today, checking on membership and sales, talked to an old feller working there 22 years, got tips on gear. Just replaced his old Toyota 4runner that got totalled with a 5gen with 100k at $24,000 iirc, desert state prior owner so no rust. He said it was 2020 that 4runners added CarPlay and the nanny gear like collision avoidance etc that turns a simple bumper repair into $3000 fix due to all the sensors...

I need 4x4 to get to some boondocking spots or jeep routes on OnX maps, that my AWD just.cant.quite.hack at times...

So thats my next "expensive CI accessory" on wishlist...
After the hot tub option retrofit, at the Nest...
Just in time to demo at CICO?

Anyone here tow with 4runner? Any tips, tricks?
How do you like that 6cyl no turbo bullet proof Toyota reliability...
