Grey water tank maintainence?

I'm getting ready to clean/rinse the grey water tank and wonder if anyone has a product that they use for getting this done. My thought was to put a bunch of baking soda down the sink drain with a few gallons of water and then drive a bit to let it slosh around a while. But if there's a better way I'm all ears.

I can help with this one. Fresh water 4/1 bleach and water.
Gray tank, when you have drained it, put 3 cups of laundry detergent, and 1 cup of fabric softner into sink drain. Run about 1 gal of water into the tank. Drive home. Drain tank at the next oportunity. The tank will be clean and smell fresh.

I do this with both my 40gal gray water AND black water tanks on my TT. I have not done much camping this year and my tanks are still pleasant smelling.

George, just so I'm reading this solutions correctly?
4 part Bleach
1 part water?
Sounds a little strong... maybe the other way around??
I should be reading 4=water 1=bleach???
Just Wandering Minds that wanna know...
thanks..

I found a product called Elemonate for use with gray water tank odor. I talked with someone there who said to use a full tablet the first time and then about a quarter tablet each time after. I imagine a small box of baking soda down the sink drain and a couple gallons of water would work well too. George's method would certainly clean up a grimy tank real well.
At Steve's suggestion I read the manual and CampInn suggests a few tablespoons of chlorine bleach mixed with water for the fresh water tank. And then dumping it and re-filling with fresh water for use.
I think the key is to clean them both fairly regularly so it doesn't take a jack-hammer to blast caked on crud away.

George means: 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. The order is backwards. Most usually put bleach first, then water.

Yes that is 4 water - 1 bleach. I didn't mention when you flush with fresh water then make up a vinegar water solution and add to fresh water. Fill tank and then drain. This last step will remove the clhorine odor and taste.

my measurements for the liquid detergent and fab softner are for the 40 gal tank.
