Frank's advice is probably best for you then, because I pay for my blog (I wanted additional customization and a different look that wasn't possible with free options). For the curious, my webhost is Bluehost and it costs me about $10 a month, Wordpress is free, but I bought a specific Wordpress theme to build my site from that cost a one time fee of $70.
