Flea Market Iron

Hey all,

I just located a " Suitable " replacement wood Handle , for the " Wafer Iron".

Home Depot; Brinkman Grill Brush; $ 1.97.

I just needed to shorten it a bit, and with a wood file, trim down the diameter , for a snug fit.

I roughed one up just to see if it would work.. It took about an hour, but it worked out ! !

All that is need is a small wood screw to hold it in place.

Nice find on the handles. They look very good. Now you can try making some of those wafers.. Maybe Jean has a recipe.

After work I will find the krumkaka recipe. Also, you could try a crepe recipe.

I slightly charred the wood & set a small Tack/Nail to hold the handles in place !

It also fits on top of my " #8 Waffle Iron Base ".

Not perfect,... but it's now fully functional !!

Really looks good. Functional as well. After a few uses, I don't think any one would notice that they aren't original.
