Saved for reference...
Reminds me how those truck stops sure are handy...warm shower, food, gas, when you are passing through making time.
Safer than rest stops on the highway,
and some boondock spots I might pickout, otherwise, close to the road, by far in same areas...
First time I tried camping near Petrified Forest

Google maps got me wayyyyyy off the main road...funny story on me being stubborn later on that...
But when I finally got there to the Park at sunset not only can you NOT camp in the parking lot, and after the nice young ranger explained same to the family RVing in a rental,
She recommended the Motel 6 down the road...vs pulling off the road nearby...
Second time I camped in CI across the street from the off-park gift store at south end of Main Park Rd and hwy180.
