Entirely too excited to get going

So Memorial Day Weekend arrived. I decided to hit the road to join my family at our piece of property near Mt. Index. Called my neighbor on the road when I had the sinking feeling that I forgot something kinda important and asked if he would check on the front door. As I feared, not only was it unlocked, it was open. I completely just walked out and jumped in the Jeep after hooking up the trailer and drove off. I was so excited to get on the road and looking forward to getting the summer camp season (despite the rainy weather) underway that I completely forgot to close the front door.
