dish towel

Jenny, your waffle pie iron is perfect for coking bacon. It'll cook well and will stay flat . . . And you'll season your iron at the same time.

One more thing: I'll second the "buy quality" sentiment. Most of my cast iron belonged to my grandmother's grandmother and it dates back to around the War Between the States. That's the kind of life expectancy you can get from good cast iron. Leave the cheap aluminum on the shelf.

Catching up = Dish towel hooks

I use those little wire rubber coated kitchen "Everything Clips", various colors. String the dish towel loop around the locking hatch bar and clip the loop so it won't pass through the bar. It does slide in an wind but you can clip it to the bar too if need be.

Sort of hard to see, but it works like a charm and doesn't interfere with anything else when closing the hatch. I just throw the towels under when closing the hatch.
