Compact Portable Grill Grate

That looks grate! (Sorry)

I also noticed this telescoping tube on the page:

To be used to blow on the fire. I’ve carried a 5’ piece of 3/8” aquarium tubing for the same purpose for many years. Either would be a real handy accessory for fire-tending. If you’ve never used a bellows, you’d be amazed by how helpful some air in the right place for a few seconds can be. The tube/tubing lets you do so without having to get your face close to the fire. Don’t breathe in, though...

I decided to stop dragging my portable grill along and start trying to grill more over an open fire. I was looking for a compact grill grate and came across this one. It all disassembles and stores in one of the tubes. Will be trying it out next weekend in Anza Borrego.

That’s a fantastic design idea. After reading a few of the reviews it will be interesting to hear how it holds up after a few uses.

So how well does the grill work?

Ben,

To be honest, it's a bit of a pain to assemble and not height adjustable. I looked at a couple of other products. Really liked the Wolf and Grizzly grill but is is very expensive at $100. The M1 Grill Kit

Ending up purchasing a Bob-A-Que for $40. A bit larger but comes with a very nice canvas carrying case. Going to try it out this weekend.

Hi Randy, Thanks for the review. I'm thinking of just getting a plain grate to use over a fire. I will use logs or rocks to hold it up:
