Brunch: Fried smoked bacon, home fries, fried eggs, toast & coffee all hot and all at once on a warm enamel plate with a piece of fruit on the side.

Made possible thanks to a replacement grill part from a big box to make a warming rack.

Our galley additions include a vintage spring loaded Scott paper towel holder where we don’t have to remove the towels to close the hatch. Also there is a bottle opener on the utensil drawer under the $1 level gauge, a soap dish and the warming rack is above the Thermador cook top.

It ain't yours until you drill a hole in it.

No Evan, it does not. For travel time it stands in front of the cooler & the table holds it in place.

Charlie, There is one more hole hiding behind the hatch support which allows the rack to tilt down to a 45o. This allows clearance for the rod to close so the rack stays basically in place when closing for the night.

I'm sure there is a better way to design a rack, but clearances/strength remain an issue. A lay flat against the back wall rack with thin fold out triangular supports would be the cats a$$ (under 1/2" thick)- sort of like a Coleman stove wind screen made out of rod. This has been working, so I haven't pursued a better one, but I think I just might.

Hilditch,
thanks for sharing - nice additions! I especially like the warming rack. Did you buy this or adapt from another appliance?

Bob, the rack/shelf was for some gas grill's upper shelf. The replacement shelf proper is 23 1/2" x 10 1/2" & came from HD in their grill parts section. A little bending and figuring out where to drill the holes did it. On the curb side it just sits on top of the molding. So the answer to your question is yes.

Hilditch,
Thanks for the details. I'm going to keep my eyes open for something that I could modify as well.

Your rack is a very clever idea. As I play with my unit(when I get it), I am sure I will have some ideas to make things handier. There are several that have been posted on this forum that spark some interest. It looks like it belongs.
