With Florida schools having restarted the third week in August was an ideal time to spend 3 days at Anastasia State Park near the oldest city in the US St. Augustine. If you enjoy mixing your teardrop camping with access to fine food and historic locations this is an ideal choice. Camp sites are located in a beautiful coastal forest growing over ancient sand dunes. As the campground is a distance from the beach bicycling is ideal. The nature trail through the coastal forest and a visit to the Spanish Coquina quarries are a must. The St. Augustine Ampitheater is nearby and music schedule available at St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Even if you never leave the park during your stay you can enjoy The Real Florida at this well managed and lovingly cared for gem.
