Camped Brown County State Park near Nashville, IN again this weekend - it was one of the least likely spots to get rain in the Midwest.
This was the maiden voyage for the Dutch Oven using coals. Tried the Santa Fe Chicken from the Gorius One Pot Meals book. With a bit of salsa added, it was very good!
This was also the first time we brought Bailey the Wonder Dog along, and he did just fine, except for the one time he tried to jump into the camper through the door screen... He slept in the side tent like he'd been doin' it for years.

Looks like a great set-up. What kind of screen room do you have? How is it working out?
 
Bob, I it's a 'Northwest Territory' brand aluminum screen house. It measures 10 X 9 and can be put up easily by one person. It's held up surprisingly well in some windy conditions so far. I found it at a local Sears store. Here's a link to one on Ebay
 
Ken, $69 plus shipping. Do you think this is good enough for several seasons of use, with care? Seems to almost be a throw away, based on price. Let me know what you think,

Ken, My wife and I have talked about going to Nashville, IN in the next few months. It looks very pleasant. We are headed to the Plateau in East TN for the 4th. We are hoping it will be cooler. We are going to the Big South Fork NRA. It is very rugged. You can wade across the Cumberland River, the one that flooded Nashville. I will let you know when we get to Indiana.

It is not a heavy duty tent at all - it's quite light and easy to handle. That said, we've had it just about a year now, it's been on 6 or 8 trips, and it's holding up just fine. It comes with a zip up bag, and I keep it all in the original box.
When you look at the picture, the 4 outside corners of the roof are all hinged, so the legs fold out and up, in half, onto the roof. My guess is that the hinges would be the weak point, if you don't take care when opening and closing. At 10X9 it's not huge - big enough for a couple of chairs and small table, or just enough to fit a picnic table. But for the 2 of us it's plenty enough room to escape the bugs if needed.
 
I think you'll enjoy Brown County SP - I think it's the biggest state park in Indiana. We stayed in the Taylor Ridge campground (there are several in the park). The washroom/showers are clean with plenty of hot water. We've only stayed at the park twice, but it's been nice and quiet. If you like to hike there's a trailhead right in the Taylor Ridge campground for a good trail. There's also mountain bike trails if you're into that, and a full size swimming pool. In fact, the lodge there has an indoor 'water park' if you'll be there with kids. It is a beautiful park with great views of the surrounding area.
We'll have to look into the areas in TN that you mentioned, we're always on the lookout for new places to visit. Thanks.
