2026 Camping Gear

It was suggested to me in another thread that I add a new uke to the camping gear that could survive canoeing. A carbon fiber wonder of musical instrument engineering is incoming!

Side benefit; it can be used as a paddle if one is broken or lost!
Pics for proof as paddle please!

A new addition for us on the camper. Bike racks on the roof. Went with the 1Up Super Duty tray racks. They installed beautifully on the rack and look really great on the camper. Just installed them tonight so haven’t used them yet but they look like they will work really well. Will have to lift the bikes over the ARB awnings to get them on the racks but doesn’t seem to be a problem. Is when it’s nice being 6’4”!View attachment IMG_7330.jpegView attachment IMG_7329.jpegView attachment IMG_7328.jpeg

That's interesting and haven't seen much. One advantage: The roof on the teardrop is generally lower than the roof on car or SUV.

Ouch! My back hurts just looking at that photo.

Good choice on the 1UP. I have one that uses the hitch on my car or the 560. They’re awesome. And if you’re hauling e-bikes, they sell a ramp that allows you to not have to lift the bike up on the rack. Worth its weight in gold.

Also have the Super 1up on back- very sturdy.
Gonna have to check out that e-bike loading ramp:

Nothing to check out. Just do it. At my age lifting a 55 lb e-bike to try and align it on the rails of the rack is an accident waiting to happen. No need to damage myself or the 560. I can and do usually lift the bike off the rack. Much simpler than getting it on. (It's all about the handlebars.)

Some would say that is a better use! Actually Uke's are fine -- As much as I like them Banjos' and guitars are far worse choices...they are loud. The uke is quiet and very suitable for an afternoon at the camper.

I'm out of room - I need to do a purge in my camper and get the stuff out that we really don't need -- or at least get htem into a small tote that I can toss in the car. I've gotten so bloated that its hard to move any more, and since my wife hasn't been able to go with me as much, I've started to spill over into her space.

Its time to clean!!!! I need to find good storage...
