    2013 - Alaska or bust!

Benn, I bet the skeeters at Lake Griffen were worse than anything we'll find up there. And of course they were accompinied by a world record hatching of Love Bugs when you were here! Love Bugs, now that will generate some questions from our distant tear droppers! Let's see what pops up here. Mike

Cape Canaveral, Florida ref Jenns launch pics

Just to add on to Jenn's night launch shots, here are some pictures of Meribeth, Benn and Carol at the same spot in Dec. Our night launches were cancelled but they agreed to to launch a nuclear sub from just across from the campground. The large crane you see is the same one in Jenn's pictures...

    2013 - Alaska or bust!

George, thanks. I've felt all along that a bear likens a teardrop to a can of tuna. A little harder to open than a candy bar wrapper - but not much! I did notice that we were adjoining tears in the nest but we didn't pick ours up until the day before the CICO. I'm sure you were their a week or...

    Rick's Raindrop Report

"I had seen Raindrops before, but this was MY raindrop! I wanted to hug it, but wasn't exactly sure the best way to hug a Raindrop, so I refrained." And Cary would have yelled at you for smudging the surface! Great stuff and I hope you have as much fun as we do. Mike and Carol

    Look what I found - part 2

Re: Look what I found Great find Duke. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure their adventures will be a big help to us. We plan a similiar journey, up the Inside Passage to Whittier and drive out from the top. It'll take awhile to sort through their adventures but it should be fun. Mike

    Look what I found - part 2

Re: Look what I found I thought about towing it as a "photo op" and I think I could get it moving but it was the stopping that worried me! So I'll just go with a static set up. We do have a lot of golf here. 11 27 hole championship course and 30 9 hole executive course. All spread over 3...

Inquiry March Fl "cruise Inn At The Cape"

Hi AJ, We are still planning on going to Jetty Park in March. We are on Site 238 and the Aaronson's are on Site 225. Our site is across from the Campstore and the bathhouse is behind us. There are spots out by the water but they have no electric or water. We really enjoyed this...

    Look what I found - part 2

I was doing a little research on campgrounds at various stops along the Inside Passage and look what I found! This is from a campground brochure in Juneau. Mike OK, I think my Village friends are getting a little jealous of out TD sub culture. They've started sending thing like the new attachement!

Side Tent Side Tent - How To Secure On Pavement

Duke, I thought about that and may do it sometime. But for now I put a small cooler and the bags we take to the shower in the corners. This has helped hold down the tent so far. We had a really windy night at the Cape last week and finally decided to take the tent down as a precaution but it...

Inquiry March Fl "cruise Inn At The Cape"

Jean, I just heard that Jenn might make it. Delay a few days, let the snow stop falling and give the ice time to melt up in MN and enjoy some more sunshine at the Cape. My guess it will be 80 - 85 then! Mike

    Why cats don't camp

Oly, yea you're right. I remember my uncles going coon hunting in MD when I was a kid on the farm. Those old Bluetick(sp) and Walker coon hounds would be really messed up if they cornered a coon or one was shot out of the tree but not exacly dead yet. Battle scars my uncle called them. Mike

Inquiry March Fl "cruise Inn At The Cape"

We just spent a great few days with Benn and Meribeth at a neat campground located on the ocean and inlet where the Port Canaveral cruise ships sail from. We've decided to go back on March 22 to 24 to attend an airshow in nearby Titusville. That led to an idea to have a mini gathering - call it...

    2013 - Alaska or bust!

Doug, we are still in the planning stage for our trip to Alaska this summer but I think I've changed my mind about the Inside Passage. It makes more sense to take the ferry on the front end. That way if our driving trip is cut short or we want to extend our stay, we'll be more flexible if we...
