    Battery Care Between Trips

Knock on wood - but my 2008 has the original battery and the trailer is plugged in whenever there is a power source - out camping or in storage.

    Jeremiah's 2015 Long Haul

I remember those Montana cherries. Like mentioned above - every time you go back to one of the NP's - you see or experience something new. Spring, summer or early fall also make a big difference. The drive through Idaho from Glacier to Spokane is quite scenic. Appears to have been a great...

Please help.. thoughts on 550 or 560?

Your not that far from Wisconsin - you should make a trip to the factory so you can experience the 550 & 560. The 560 does offer a lot more room - but there are trade-offs with each model. I really like having that extra 2' where you can sit up and read with good light. As far as resale -...

    Pony Inn Northwest Tour

Not only is the train ride from Chama to Antonito nice the drive on 17 between the two is beautiful. You were lucky to catch a year where the river is flowing between the parking lot and the dunes - doesn't happen every year. Nothing like catching sunset and sunrise over the dunes. You...

    Long Haul begins

Normally the horses out west are pretty well mannered - but if they get wind of a bear - they will spook - being a herd animal - if one gets spooked, it rubs off on the rest.

I have been using the hyper-vent - added about 1" in height to the mattress - it is used for under mattresses on fishing boats, etc. Bob

    Long Haul begins

The Snake River is usually around maximum flow in early June - so I suspect you had quite a thrilling float. The Snake is one of the safer rivers to run as far as rocks are concerned. You should have a great trip. Bob

    550 / 560 Silver Shadow & CI 560 - both 2008 models

When you are considering something about the size of 3 man tent, having an area where you can sit up comfortably with window light is a nice feature to have. That is what made the move to the 560 attractive to me.

    550 / 560 Silver Shadow & CI 560 - both 2008 models

Both have a 5' x 10' footprint - the 560 is much roomier inside and the galley has a much more efficient design. I had no complaints with the Silver Shadow, but do feel that the CI 560 was a step up.

    Locks for trailer hitch

I have a hitch lock and a tire claw like lock for when we leave the trailer parked somewhere. But I suspect those probably only keep the honest people honest as they say. If someone really wanted to take something, they would find a way. So we also have insurance on the TD.
