    Long Haul - Campsite selections

When Becky and I go we have a general idea of our route but that is it. It is pretty much a day by day plan. That for us is the adventure. Don't forget to get local input. Locals have put us onto some very cool things not in the books. With our solar panel we don't need to be in a campground...

    Oly's custom additions to 560

Yes it stays in there out of the way. We put a piece of that rubber shelf material in there to help keep it from any movement. It is just wide enough for the laptop and then the mouse along side.

    LL Bean cast iron

I have and they are researching it. What I know right now is that they sold one in 1984 made by Independence Foundries of Independence Missouri. But I believe mine is much older than that. We will see now that they have some pictures.

    Oly's custom additions to 560

Not at all George. I'm not a wood worker when it comes to close tolerances. So we had it made. But when the guy made it he actually made like an enclosed drawer with a bottom below the pull out which added a lot of weight and took more space. Just a miss communication. So I took that part off...

    Blue Magic+aluminum+body shine

The shine looks great. But for me personally I am going with the patina look. I am okay with knowing it will never look as shiny as the day we picked it up. Hand wash and we are ready to go. You will never stop the oxidation which means you will never stop polishing. I did try a test spot to...

    Bob Seger in Concert

A friend of mine in N. Wi. took his kids and his 80+ year old mom to see him in GB. Said he was better than 20 years ago. He is 56 and his mom is who turned him on to Seger many years ago. What an awesome memory.

    Oly's custom additions to 560

Becky and I didn't get a TV so we added a slide drawer for our computer which has the same 15" screen. We don't care about the TV part but thought it would be nice to watch a movie if the weather is bad. We keep a file of movies and did watch a couple when it was cold and raining on our southern...

    Re: Adventures of our 560

We didn't get to paddle quite as much as we wanted, but we did manage to do a day paddle on Bayou Bartholomew (longest Bayou in the world) from Cane Creek St. Pk in Arkansas. What an impressive waterway. Cypress trees that were hundreds of years old. To bad the are no protections in place for...

    LL Bean cast iron

Does anyone know anything about LL Bean cast iron? We found a beautiful LL Bean cast iron fry pan with matching lid that is fully coated in speckled porcelain except the bottom of the pan which is stamped LL Bean. I am trying to find out who may have made it for them and how old it might be...

    Adventures of our 560

Becky and I just got home from our 2nd trip in our 560. We drove 2,940 miles and were gone for just over 3 weeks. Spent 25 nights in the camper and 2 nights in hotels. We were in Il., Ky., Tn., Ar.,La.,Ok. and Mo. camped in all but Mo. Arkansas is such a beautiful state and we love the people...

    Wind power?

I like that idea. You probably could get by with a much smaller one as far as watt output. You could potentially get 24/7 production. It would be nice to get one that you could remove the blades from the body for storage during travel then have a telescoping pole that you could easily attach...

    Popcorn for camping

We brought our antique whirly pop with us when we picked our camper up in Oct. and tried it out. It now has a new home in our camper. It does take up some space but you can also pack stuff in the popper for travel. You just can't have too much popcorn.

Itinerary Beaver Bend Ok. Camp Out

Jenn, It will be a surprise, I have never been to that part of Ok. or to the event. But it sounds like fun and we were kind of going that direction about that time so decided to check it out. It is kind of close to the Gulf Coast, at least until you look at a map...

    LuminAid light

This item may be of interest. I have one and have another coming. This is one of the neatest inventions. It really does put out some good light. After putting air in the bag it is about the size of a gallon zip loc. The bag is made out of a soft texture material much like a camelbak water bag...
