Sans the raindrop, but just arrived in Destin Florida, just to be greeted by Tropical Storm Bertha. Not much of a storm, but enough to close off water access today (double red flags). Hopefully mostly passed to the west by tomorrow. (Good day to see "The Odyssey")

Those Land Cruisers sure are sweet. But damned pricey. Keeping eye out for eventual 2027 Subaru Outback Hybrid. Was disappointed in Forest Wilderness Hybrid — only 1500-pound towing capacity.

The beautiful thing about a teardrop that's hard to explain to any small RVer: It's never cramped inside because you lay down to sleep or sit. Sure, a small RV (or camper van) has a dinette and kitchen an mini closet or whatever. But now you're talking about two adults needing to navigate around...

It does have two accessory sidewalls that should work well. Haven't tried over more of camper but it could go back a bit more.

Finally got around to sizing up my Big Agnes Sage Deluxe to my 560. Good fit and lots of coverage. (Has additional add-on side flaps for low sun or rain.

Good point on cold weather. As current (non 2021 OG thread models) goes, new Subaru (*cough* Toyota) Trailseeker is pretty good contender. Especially for us down South.

That's interesting and haven't seen much. One advantage: The roof on the teardrop is generally lower than the roof on car or SUV.

You'd have to really sit in one at REI or someplace first. They are comfy but the fit and design is just plain different. And as you are taller than me (6-1), I'd downplay the "lie back and recline" aspect because you head would likely be higher than the little head rest. They are about 14-15...
