Not even close. The one I killed was was at least the 3'rd one I did this too. The other two were never-start batteries. This one was a Fullriver DC85-12. In fact, I think you talked me into it.

BUT...in the interim years, lithium batteries have been proving themselves to me.

For comparison:

1] Walmart Never-Start batteries are $100 for something experience has taught will last 2 years.
2] The DC85 by fullriver are $392 right now. They are not managed, and suspectable to what I did .
3] Litime (not the one from CampInn) prices out at $360, has BMS and a good reputation, and double the capacity of the DC85.

Suddenly Lithium starts to make a awful lot of sense. So hopefully it will be here soon - exepcted between May 7 and 11'th...HOPING to get out that weekend with some friends I havnt gotten to camp with in a while.

I have killed at least 3 AGM batteries over the course of owning my last RV. Even bought a very nice battery tender for the off-season so they stay charged up in a climate-controlled space. Still dead batteries. The problem? I was too freakin' lazy to drive out to the storage lot, pull the battery from the 5th wheel, drive home and hook it up to the battery tender. Even when the battery cuttoff switch was OFF they still died. Plugged into the storage post? Still dead at the beginning of the season.

If this happened in my IT world, I'd call it a PICNIC and shuffle off back to my corner, where my dunce cap and stool await my inevitable return.

I dont' have the excuse of going to storage -- Serenity is quite literally 20 feet from me. I just got home tired and didn't plug it in...So, right now, chomping at the bit because as soon as it shows up - I'm taking a couple days off. :D

All I can say is if you have A camper like this, you treat her proper, she'll be with you the rest of your life.

Personally I like "Becuase she's a death trap, Sir!"

I think that Joss got a little crazy - but this show was, and remains, the best show on television in my book. Though, I'm not sure I'm excited about the new animated series. The 'kickoff' campaign was pretty cool though.

That is kind of wehre we started - this was in 2011 and we were going back and forth on buying or building. I then saw a campinn and the rest is history. I stopped tracking lil' guy - what happened to it? I know they made T@B and T@G for a big - but then lost the license and it went to nu-camp? I honeslty think that was the right move. Nu-camp has developed a solid reputation, and is still one of the highest 'owner retention' rates in the industry. Meaning owners don't sell them, and if they do are likely to buy another one. I do like their Truma system - I'm traind on that product line, and have to say - its slick. Especially now that they use propane, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Really efficient heat!

We were at a florida park - near lakeland - Lake Kissimmee? I went face to face with a trash panda there - and - those things are frekin' fearless!

Twenty years ago we had 4-5 raccoons in our laundry room. We had a pet door for the cats and they came through it. Sat & watched them try every dryer sheet in the box and then tear up a set of mini blinds.,After they went outside i threw a basketball at them thinking it would scare them away. Nope, they played with it, We got our first Corgi not long after that & haven’t seen one since.

We had the exact scenario play out. Had a cat door to the garage and another going from there into the house. Thought I was being clever with managing the cats until one evening when I caught my cat peeking through the cat door at something. Lemme tell ya, they do NOT back down when cornered! I had to coax them back outside with a trail of cat food.

I agree completely. I don’t watch a lot of TV but whenever the Mrs puts it on I am compelled to stop whatever it is I’m doing and watch. Joss (and the cast & crew) got screwed by the TV execs. Wait & See Mode on the animated series.

Totally agree -- I honestly don't know why. I mean, they showed the series out of order for pete's sake! The only thing I can say is the theatrical movie was brutally true to the heart of the story. No sacred cows.

Its been a year or two since I watched the series -- I may need to kick off a marathon

I found out something interested, the movie Twister --- apparently Joss was brought in to rework the script -- he never got a credit for it though.

I'm thinking the movie "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy captures these little a@#$holes perfectly.
 
The key for the boondockers and shoulder-seaon campers where a freeze might happen is to get a self warming lithium model. Bad things happen when the sun comes up and solar panels charge a frozen bat-tree, iirc.

Maybe Cary can update on current best of the market choices for OEM replacements, if Precision 110 is no longer offered at The Nest.
